Some inaccuracies:

A couple glaring ones:

"Each year, approximately 30,000 cases of Lyme disease are reported..."
(isn't it 300,000?)

Referring to late diagnosis:
"By this time, antibiotics are more or less useless because the bacteria that causes Lyme disease has the ability to hide within cells and
tissues."
That's going to discourage a lot of people with chronic lyme!!!

They had two dr on air talking about it and I was surprised to hear them say is can be chronic if left untreated and can be sexually transmitted. The two dr on air were good and it seemed attitudes were changing about the disease.

It's just more propaganda and misinformation being spread. This is part of the reason it's so hard for us to even find acceptance when we have chronic Lyme:
"In 10 to 20 percent of patients treated with antibiotics, symptoms of Lyme disease linger even after treatment. This is known as Post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome (PTLDS). Although the cause is not known, experts believe that PTLDS is caused by an autoimmune response, in which a person's immune system continues to respond, doing damage to the body’s tissues, even after the infection has been cleared."

And look who they went to for information for the article:
"the Chairman of the Department of Urology and Chief of Robotic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He is a board-certified urologist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of urological disease, with a focus on robotic prostate cancer treatments."

Not a good choice when there are so many LLMD's that are now speaking out and doing interviews!!

AML - I'm so sorry that your posts disappeared like that!! For some reason it happens from time to time - I promise there is no one 'behind the scene' editing and choosing which posts are allowed! The Mods do the only editing that happens here, and we almost always include an explanation as to why we are editing.

I know how frustrating that can be (it's happened to me several times too), but if you are up to posting it again, please do!!

That's been happening a lot to me today. I thought it was because I was using an old version of Internet Explorer. I’ve taken to typing up my post in a different program then copying and pasting it on the forum. That way if it doesn’t work I can just paste it again.

LOL. I had to do exactly that with this post because it didn’t save the first time.
