Coconut oil is the only moisturizer I use on my face. I started this back when I was learning how to detox and decided that I didn't want to use lotions and things that had all kinds of chemicals that I couldn't even pronounce in them. Our skin absorbs those things and then we have to detox much of it back out.
I too have combination- to slightly oily skin, but a very, very light application of coconut oil has not made things worse, my skin improved.
Why not try a bandaid with coconut oil, or tea tree oil if you have some, applied on the pad? That way it won't be all over your face. I've done this a time or two for a larger, "regular" acne spot and was quite please with the results. Coconut oil and tea tree oil are antibacterial and could help.
And you might want to consider taking the activated charcoal or the bentonite clay internally, it's a great help for detoxing for many! Just remember that it will absorb even the good stuff that you take/eat, so take it 2 hours away from any food, supplements or medicines/herbs that you may be taking.
