Lyme again???

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I had Lyme disease a yr ago. Classic thing with the rash so no blood was run I was prescribed doxy for 2 weeks and when I felt bad still a different doctor (both of whom were emergency care docs in two different places due to lack of ins) prescribed me for an additional 3 weeks because the standard should've been that long and she felt I needed to start from square one. After the meds I was in pain for about 2 more months and it faded away completely where I was 100%! Unfortunately I had another tick nite about a month ago and now I feel exactly the same as last time but no rash yet. The rash happened 8 wks after the bite the first time so I think I am just not that far in yet. I saw an emergency care doc again last week after feeling like crap for two weeks. She said I needed a specialist but I don't have a doc to refer me to one. What would you do? Thinking of going to a hospital tomorrow but I'm scared to death they will do a spinal tap because blood with test positive for life. Anyone else had this more than once after a full recovery? Ugh...I had been pain free and 100% for 9 months so I'm sure it was not chronic

I did see and remove a tick 5 weeks ago...this is my concern. I'm gonna seek a professional again today or tomorrow to see if they will prescribe me another 3 weeks of doxy..ugh

Agreed - 3 weeks isn't long enough. The leading LLMD's say even without symptoms, treatment must be at least 6 - 8 weeks long in order to kill enough bacteria to keep it from returning later on when stress happens to the body or the immune system is not working at top notch for any reason.

Also please be sure that you are getting a high enough dose to actually kill the bacteria - 400 - 600 mgs a day of Doxy (if that's what you're going to use)- as anything less will only stop them from replicating.
