Jess, I have exactly those symptoms - that's how it started for me about
six weeks ago. Spaciness, feelings of imbalance, and like my head was not attached to my body (sort of a mix of feeling drugged/in a dream). I've also had some word salad going on, and bad short-term memory, along with not being able to focus/concentrate on things properly. Lately I've been having some days where it's slightly better, so I'm thankful for that, but when it strikes it's a nightmare. You can't even relax and watch tv because it just makes your head swim.
I think you owe it to yourself to try and help yourself heal as much as you can. I would spend some time researching natural foods and supplements that will help. Look for things that will reduce inflammation, infection, toxins and bacteria. Throw in some superfoods as well, wherever you can - things like blueberries, oranges, spinach, cucumbers - the stuff that helps your body fight things off and boost your immune system. Also drink plenty of water, and try deep-breathing exercises (breathing with your stomach instead of chest). Reflexology has also helped me, albeit temporarily - there is a certain area you can massage, around your pinky/ring fingers that will relieve the vertigo a little (you'll have to look it up). That's probably as much as you can do while seeking out medical help. Good luck!
