Treating Lyme in the eyes?

Anyone have any idea how to treat Lyme in the eye?

My left eye got a kind of "eye pain", has more floaters and a blurry white area when I am in the dark.

I Read a lot of places that Lyme is hard to treat in the eye.

Any suggestions? I believe my left eye got it. Which medications can we use for eye Lyme and what can we use to repair floaters?

Floaters are basically pieces of debris,they may or may not be connected to Lyme.

Like Mike,I had them way before I contracted Lyme, they are most certainly not spirochetes floating around in your eyes!

You posted recently that you were convinced that you could see spirochetes wriggling around in your eyes,think about it if they were visable to the naked eye ,we wouldn't need blood tests.

We could examine our own blood and would be able to see them swimming merrily away,wouldn't that be a sight for "sore eyes"?...........yes the pun was intended smilewinkgrin

Pink. - oh I know about the floaters aren't spirochetes. Everyone has convinced me I'm wrong including my Mom! Even the doctors. But at one point in time I was convinced they were spirochetes! I think because they all came out of the blue, one day in the bright light I noticed them for the first time and lots of them! It was terrifying.

But it still is damage to me, and I didn't have floaters before Lyme. My eyes had 0 floaters, this is only an after Lyme occurance for me.

I just had minor pain in my eye at times which I did not have before Lyme.

I also heard great reports from lots of people that amoxicillin helped with eye issues. I too have been on it for the past couple months. It has helped but I'm not sure if it has completely resolved it.

It may take just some time for it all to clear up. Considering your symptoms aren't severe or hard to live with, maybe you should continue on your current treatment with a "wait and see" approach? I know that I no longer have as many floaters/eye issues.

I just have a few floaters... But there has been a new symptom lately. I get a mild pain in my left eye, it feels like the entire eye is in a mild pain. Then it goes away. Also I get a fluttering twitching like symptom in my left eyelid. And. Finally I have a lower part of my vision that is fuzzy on my left eye, but I only see that in the dark and dim light conditions.

I keep reading the eye fluid is where antibiotics generally don't get to as well, and the immune system apparently doesn't go into the eye... So I'm not sure about this. It wasn't much of an issue before...

Ever since I stopped cured twice protocol which I was only able to do for 14 days until the bartonella came back. I went back to the bartonella treating protocol and Bart symptoms cleared up quickly but Lyme symptoms are creeping back.

Even though I am taking minocycline + biaxin + septra DS + Plaquenil ... I still get Lyme symptoms creeping back. This combo isn't working for Lyme. I even did a months worth of amoxicillin.

I wonder if I add in the Wild Cherry Bark if that will help?

Has anyone had any success treating with herbs and antibiotics? I really want to put something in my eye but so far no one has prescribed anything. I have floaters, flashes, after images, trails, halos and when I squint hundreds of cells in my eyes. Some of my floaters look like worms, others long threads with cells in them and some like little mosquitos. They came on six months ago and have been taking a huge toll on me.

I have Lyme, with CMV, EBV, HH6 and Mycoplasma Pneuomiae.

Are you asking if anyone had success with treating lyme in the eyes? The answer is 'yes'.
When you effectively treat lyme, the symptoms (including the eye symptoms) should resolve.

I'm sorry you're having all that happening with your eyes.

Yeah, I know its out of focus, cuz that's how I see them! I usually notice them first thing when driving to work in the morning, when looking out the window, especially when its sunny and there's snow on the ground.

Hi All, I have all the eye issues that have been mentioned above. Floaters, flashes, after images, trails, halos, I also get extremely bloodshot eyes, especially when dealing with stress. Eyes get dried out. I have a strange dark halo over part of my left eye, but I can see through it. It's really annoying. I think these eye issues are related to lyme.

Before I got diagnosed with lyme, I thought I was going blind. I worked in a really bright cubical, which made things a lot worse. I saw tons of eye specialists, even neuro-opthamologists, and they all checked me out and re-assured me, and then re-re-assured me, that there was nothing wrong with my eyes. I was positive I was going to go blind.

I guess it's all lyme-related. I'm not sure how you fix lyme in your eyes because, as you probably know, the vitreous fluid, or the clear gel inside your eyes, is there for life. It doesn't get flushed out or renewed. So once lyme gets in there, it's kind of like a safe haven for it. With that being said, I'm wondering, if Spooky2 works, if the waves generated might be the only thing that could safely get within the eye and kill those suckers.

I haven't bought the machine yet. Once I get some $$ I'll see about picking it up, and keep everyone posted.

Well, I can say that all those eye issues are pretty much gone for me. Although I used to have a lot of eye issues, including those scary black areas in my vision that changed, I only have some minor issues that still hang around. My eyes are a bit sensitive to bright lights, I get blurred vision when I'm tired, blood shot/dry eyes when I'm tired, but overall, much, much less issues. If I push myself to read more when my eyes are tired, I can get massive headaches, so I do have to be careful of that as well now.

Now remember, I had Lyme for 40 yrs, then got reinfected (although healed again) not long ago, so hopefully that means all of you that have had it for less years will have a better chance at full recovery. I'm pretty much happy I got out alive after 40 yrs.

I'm assuming my sister also has Lyme in the eye---it started after the vibrations, buzzing and humming, but now she's very sensitive to light. At night, when we drive her around, she wears sunglasses b/c the headlights bother her. And sometimes at night, when she's trying to sleep, she says she can't close her eyes b/c it hurts (I'm assuming some type of pressure behind the eyes). In Buhner's book 1, he recommended Stephania and Vinpocetine. We have her on both, and I'm assuming it's just going to take time. I just got Buhner's second book and haven't had a chance to read it yet, but if I find anything else for eyes, I'll be sure to post it.

LP, I am sorry you are back on so many abx again. I have been taking some of the Buhner and Dr. Klinghardt herbs. Stephania which Dr. K uses as part of his protocol has helped with eyes issues. I will not go back on abx since I was, like you, "cured" twice but still dealing with this, about 8 years into it. So, I am just doing some drops and only 1x/day. No more money for the LLMDs and pharma, since neither cured me, anyway.

I have come to realize there is no cure and to me, there is no point to keep pushing more abx after they failed me. Mino was part of my protocol and it had probably helped the most. It is good for both Lyme and Barto as you probably know, and way stronger than amox, which also helped me at first.

I hope you find something that helps. However, I do encourage you to try some herbs, as they deal with symptoms as well as killing bacteria.

Simela - That post of LP's was in Aug, 2014. I can't remember what he's taking currently.

Are you close to being symptom free at the present?
i encourage you to keep trying...and not give up. I understand why you'd want to give upon the Pharma route...but if you keep taking the herbs...you could still heal.

I would always bet on the patient being right-consider dental spirochets. Very close to eyes

The success I have had & others I know around the eyes and sinuses use neural therapy & ozone. The only side effect I had was that my allergies disappeared for awhile.

Have a question about infrared saunas. Does anybody know of a protocol that goes along with infrared saunas? I am using the sauna treatments for Lyme. I post this here b/c the other thread is locked.

Hi Leaf 90, I see that this is your first post so welcome to the forum :)

To get an answer to your question about infra red saunas the best thing to do would be to start a new post and give it a title like 'protocols with infra red saunas', that way people who have information will see it and be more likely to respond. Because this thread is about eyes it is unlikely that people will respond here to your question.

You can also use the 'search' function on the top right hand of the screen (just be sure to include the words lyme disease) and you will be able to see if anyone has posted about this in the past.

I hope that helps and that you get an answer to your question :)

Some one makes bee venom eydrops?...have yet to try them..i have visual lighting loss of peripheral and a cyst the ophthalmology guy said was benign it is annoying...
