specialcase- Well my daughter had the same issue when she was sick. Dr. J. examined Heather's jaw and told us that her malformed jaw was causing a state of "fight or flight" for her autonomic nervous system. This translated into her choking when she ate food and going into a state of hyperventilation if she tried to swim.
Dr. J. is not a dentist or surgeon so he referred us to a "Biological Dentist" that understands and corrects such things. Heather's pediatric dentist was very alarmed that her jaw became malformed within a period of 6 months and told us that it can't be corrected orthodontically. He referred us to a couple of surgeons. They wanted to break her jaw and reshape it with titanium. We were horrified.
The Biological Dentist had the training to tell us the same things that Dr. J. told us. He also had equipment that scientifically showed us that the parasympathetic Nervous system was in chaos. He was extremely technologically advanced, and was able to show us what was wrong, and what needed to be done. He devised a series of orthodontic devices (Oral System Balancing) that slowly changed the shape of her jaw, and consequently the way that her teeth fit together. Prior to treatment, only 2 teeth in the back of her mouth touched on one side of her mouth. A session of Cranio-Sacral was also performed within hours of each appointment to adjust the orthodontic appliances. This type of treatment was used to change the way that her cranial plates were shaped. Her eating and breathing difficulties went completely away within a short period of time. The entire Oral System Balancing and orthodontic phase took over 2 years to accomplish. The end result is cosmetically pleasing as well.
Of course since these infections are inflammatory in nature, it could be due to medication intolerance, some other kind of allergy, or some other reason that causes histamine release or nervous system dysfunction.
I wish you well in your quest to find a solution. I would advise that you find a physician that has been trained to understand such things, as very few do. Good luck and please keep us posted with the situation. I know that is a nasty symptom to experience.
