For how long was the tick embedded, if you ever found one?

According to the CDC, a tick must be attached at least 24 hours in order to infect you, oh, and it has to be engorged.
The one that i found on me was there for about six to eight hours. It was a nymph deer tick and it was not engorged. But i got it from a dog, so who knows how long it was on the dog before it got on me

I never saw one...I'm wondering if it really needs to be on you that long...as wouldn't I have noticed something in that amount of time? Or, I guess if it's really tiny...then maybe you don't feel much?

I've had many ticks in my life, but I've never found an engorged one. But nymphs can be so tiny, they would be easy to miss.

Mine was there for only a couple hours, and was not engorged. But, the mouthparts came off and got stuck.

Mine was really engorged and extremely deeply imbedded. Could not get the whole tick out. Made a lot of stupid mistakes that now caused me to be here :/....
