First time poster, long time reader. I have read through the first post, it helped me a lot the first time I went through this but wish I saw a LLMD the first time because I probably wouldn't be posting here right now.
I went through this about 9 months ago, I was really tired, achy, headaches, and many other symptoms that many of you have described, so I went to mt PC. I advised him I had found a Deer Tick on myself about 2 months prior but never got a rash so I didn't think anything about it, but then the symptoms started. He did the antibody test and it came back negative but my PC still though I had it and put me on Doxy 100mg x2 daily for 2 weeks. After about 3-4 days I started feeling worse and that is when I found this site and I learned about Herxing and started doing the detox baths and taking probiotics. I started feeling better about a week later but was still concerned that 2 weeks on Doxy wasn't enough so I went back to see my PC and he refused to give me more than another weeks worth. I finished off the 3 weeks on Doxy and was feeling well, probably about 90%. I continued to feel better and never really gave it a second thought until a week ago, though I look back and I had signs about a month ago but I had been working long days, 12-14 hours so being tired was par for the course.
This brings me to now, same symptoms as last time just worse with more frequent headaches, worse fatigue and achyness, brain fog so bad and crawling skin. I went back to urgent care on Monday as my PC is out until Sept 10. They said they couldn't run any tests because I was infected less than a year a go. I don't know if this a reoccurrence of the last infection or if I got bit again and this is a new infection. So they asked what I wanted to do, so I said at least give me Doxy and I'll know after 3 or 4 days if its Lyme again. Well 3 days after starting Doxy I'm Herxing again and want to kick this as quick as possible.
I am looking for the next step because I don't have a lot of confidence in my PC regarding Lyme.
Thanks
Andrew
p.s. Sorry in advance if this is all jumbled up and hard to read. Brain fog is aweful right now. I know I probably forgot a lot of details but I'll fill in as requested.
