Please pray for my husband Toby. Due to his Lyme/ALS symptoms, he lost his balance on our front porch on Tues. eve. and cracked his skull bleeding profusely. He has been in ICU with bleeding in his brain. He had an operation the first night he was here. It's been a nightmare for my family. Thank you so much.

Thank you for your support. I so need as much of it as possible....and it doesn't even matter if it's people you have never met, even though we have met Garden Peace ((hugs)) - we all need to care about
each other. I met a lady in ICU who stayed with me when I was here by myself. It's so important to care whether family, friends, neighbors and strangers we connect to. I don't even feel like the people on this site are strangers because of personal sharing. Love to you all.

That was so sweet of that lady to stay with you. I'm glad she was there. Feel free to call me if you need to. Be sure to take good care of yourself as much as you can while you're under this stress. I hope you'll see improvements in him over the next few days. Again, I'm so sorry this happened to him.

I hope so too Garden. At the moment I am living at OHSU and the reception isn't good. I have been texting people. Part of his skull was removed and operated in that area because of the bleeding. Because of swelling, they probably aren't going to replace it for two weeks. This is one of the hardest things I have had to deal with. He is such a wonderful man....so generous and would do anything to help others. You know what, he would tell me he loved me at least three times a day. He really appreciated the support Healing Well members gave him. He couldn't type, but he was very appreciative.

Thank you for sharing with us, so that we can stand together as ONE
and intercede for him, for you, for all the medical personnel,
and all those involved and that are brought to your side.
Prayer can and does change events that are out of our hands.
Believing for nothing less than a miracle.
Also praying that you are supported daily by people who love you.

My Gosh, you must be scared. Please let us know if there is any progress. If you do belong to a church, and are so inclined, perhaps put in a prayer request.
We are all here to support you through this journey.

Hi Cat. You guys have been on my mind a lot, so I wanted to see how he is doing and how you're holding up through it all. It's such a hard time for both of you. Are the doctors understanding about
Lyme disease?
I hope he is showing improvement today.

Let's keep the faith in these difficult moments. We all will be praying for him, so that he gets better and out of the hospital, for you for lots of strength and for your family. Have faith.

Thank you so much everyone. Your kind words, prayers and support really helps. This has been a nightmare for me and family. Toby was having a rough year with his ALS symptoms and this was the icing on the cake. I haven't been on very much since Feb. because, like I said, it's been a difficult year so far. I would sometimes come on and read what people had to say, but I didn't have the energy to offer support. I am so sorry. I read what you said Trav on one of your posts about
the need to welcome people because it's too much for the moderators. I was thinking about
starting to try and this happened.
Yes, we do need to stand together. Even though I told them he has Lyme, they don't talk about
it. They focus on ALS. Toby was on short term disability from Aug. last year to Aug. this year so he had to see another neurologist for Long term disability. She also diagnosed him with ALS and ignored what I had to say about
Lyme. There aren't any LLMD's in the Portland, Oregon area that I know of. He saw chiropractors who believed that Lyme was the underlying issue. I really don't care what the medical experts think about
Lyme. Toby was tested positive and when he went through treatments his ALS symptoms stopped progressing. They all shrug over that. I don't really care at this point. I am going to be positive and say when he heals enough, we will go back to aggressively treating Lyme and coinfections. A social worker at the hospital was telling me that the reality is he will die of ALS. I say, the reality is he has Lyme and his treatments were helping.
Toby was moved two nights ago from ICU to the trauma ward. The injury affected the communication area of the brain so he cannot express himself and loses touch with reality. They say it's common with brain trauma plus he has brain swelling from the operation. They also say he is slowly progressing toward recovery. I am praying that is so.
Again, thank you. I don't think we always realize when we offer love and support to others, how much it can affect a person. It means a lot to me. ((HUGS))

Garden, I think Toby and I should have made more of an effort to go to the Lyme support group in Portland, but I will again be positive and look to going when he gets better. Hope your daughter is doing okay. I'll try to write when I can. ((Hugs))
