Whine, whine, whine.... Herxing is no fun!!!

Since I'm not really one who 'suffers in silence' well, I have to whine!!!!

I hate, hate, hate, hate herxing!! Ugh!

Although I'm starting to get all my detoxing dialed in, I'm still herxing moderately - muscle spasms/cramps, tons of inflammation, digestive upset, brain farts - uhm fog, a bit of word finding issues, and just being tired again!!!

Did I mention that I hate herxing???

Now, this is nothing compared to what I went through last time, but that's my problem, this isn't the first time I've been through this and I've got an almost PTSD response to some of this.

Fortunately I have a hubby that does all he can to help me - when I ask for the help - and is quite understanding about the whole thing. I don't have to do anything that I'm not really up to doing. I don't have a job (haven't been able to work since around 1998) that I have to go to - so I'm really one of the lucky ones - I know that I am - but....... Herxing s*cks!!!

I had a good long look at myself in the mirror last night and told me that "You can get through this again - you must get through this again!"

*Deep breath* Okay, here we go!!!

I would highly encourage all who go through this infection and make to saying "I'm healed!", to find something to help them keep their immune system functioning at high levels so that they don't have to have a "round 2" like I am going through. I'm using what Buhner recommends to use to ward off Lyme - Astragalus. It's supposed to raise the parts of the immune system that does battle against the Lyme bacteria.

I do hope that you all are having a decent day today!! Onward and upward!!! Right?

I used bee pollen last time to raise my immune function - odd tasting stuff!! I may have to add that back in as well.

I hope that your tummy supplements arrive quickly!!!

I ran out of herbs and had to wait for a week and a half to order them (unexpected costs at the Vet's for the dogs!) - so I was really glad I had already started the Astragalus! I'm sure it's why I didn't get too bad while I waited for my herbs to arrive!!

I'm so sorry Traveler. I am new to this and haven't started treatment yet, so I cannot relate to herxing, but I can relate to not feeling well! Thank goodness for your wonderful husband. You will make it through this again. Looks like you get an extra unwanted spin on the merry-go-round of Lyme!

Whining is good for you sometimes. It's good let out all those negative feelings. You'll get through this again!! I'm glad it's not as bad the second time around.

I have my fist LLMD appt Wednesday. Maybe I will start treatment/herxing then??? So......move over, I'm about to join you on the merry-go-round! Lol.

Awe, Traveler, I am So sorry!!! I will never forget how incredibly painful the herxing was for me when I began treatment. There are no words to describe it. I am not one to cry, but I was on the phone with my mom crying about it. Of course, with time, as you know, the herxing got less and less. I do hope you get over this bout of lyme in a short time Traveler! Hugs!!!xoxoxoxo

Traveler, when it is my time to herx, i will be crying of joy and pain. Of joy because i know these bad bugs are dying without mercy, of pain because it hurts. Just like they torture us without mercy, they must die as such...i know it may sound crazy, but we do celebrate herxing because it is one way of knowing these hijackers are dying. And we keep our heads up because we are winning... I hope you feel better and that the herxing won't last long. Thoughts of the ones i love and faith have always helped me in my worst time.
ps....you are not feeling old, you are just too tired. This is a tough battle and you will win

Baby girl/Trav., I highly recommend that you reduce the amount of hooch you're putting in your four cups of almost boiling water. Then go up SLOWLY.

I know you're detoxing, so that's the only other thing I can tell you to do. SLOW is the key: SLOW, SLOW, SLOW.

Only start with one day a week if you have to.

Awww! Thank you all!! I'm hanging in there! And once again, I am taken aback by all the support that is given here!! You all are just too cool!! and I'm near tears!!

I fully expected to herx with this treatment as it definitely seems to be very effective for me. I'm so very glad that the herxing hasn't risen past the point that I feel a little like rewarmed poo - had it, I would have reduced the amount I was taking (but thank you so much Margaret!!).

Cheetahjade, I'm so very sorry that you are herxing as well - but know that you can get through it if it's not too bad!! Detox like there's no tomorrow!!! If you simply can't detox enough and it's really making you sick, you need to lower your dosage of abx/herb and/or call your LL doc. They need to know that you are herxing badly if you do. The friends that detox together, stay together???? Also try not keeping your feet in the water so long, and/or lowering the amount of Epsom salt/peroxide in your next foot soak.

Mister Mike, I seem to be making quite the impact on those buggars!!!

LymePickle - I am quite sure that it is a reinfection. I was completely symptom free from Lyme & Bart symptoms for 3 years, Babesia symptoms for 2 years. I had a tick attach (in a very bad spot!!!) and the bite site stayed swollen, angry red and incredibly itchy for about 6 weeks. The most I have ever had before this was it stayed itchy for about 2 weeks, and only slightly swollen, but not angry red. My symptoms were undeniable within 2 1/2 months after that. But since tests can't tell us when we were infected, I chose to not get any testing done. Treatment response was more than enough to convince me I had Lyme once again. Surprisingly, I have a lot more foot pain that I suspected Lyme could generate though! Since it left as soon as I started Lyme herbs, I'm going to assume that it was due to arthritis (I've broken almost every single bone in both feet) and the Lyme was attacking that. But to be safe, I'll re-evaluate when I finish with Lyme treatment. It won't be a hassle at all to use what worked for my Bart infection last time if I feel the need.

Besides, I'm the most knowledgeable person that I know in my area about these infections - not bragging - it's the scary truth!! Not one single doctor is willing to diagnose Lyme disease here and you can forget getting treatments here.

Elmesanoya - I am jumping for joy somewhere deep inside!! But the rest of me isn't really feeling like celebrating right now! LOL! But I will celebrate with you as soon as you are in treatment!! We can have a "Ugh I feel like poo" party!!! I bet we would have a huge turnout of other Lymies too!!!

I'm paying for the firewood I moved day before yesterday (I always have a delayed response to exercise when I have Lyme!), so my pain levels are still up and so is the inflammation, but I'm doing pretty well considering! And besides, how can I stay down when I've got such an awesome cheering squad????
