just diagnosed looking for input on my IgeneX results

HI, I have just been diagnosed after 2 plus years of feeling terrible. My main issue is GI related. I dismissed the other issues as getting older, but now that I know it all makes sense. I am so relieved to have Lyme disease, as weird as that is. It is an answer. I have my first appointment with a doctor I have been refered to by my ND. I would love input on my lab results. They are

My symptoms come and go. I've had GERD, upset stomach, feeling of constipation, feeling like my food is just sitting there, SIBO, stiff neck, headaches, hair loss, hip pain, wrist pain, back pain, face pain, pains radiating from one body part to another, tingling fingers, foggy brain, loss of words, leg pain, sholder pain, breast pain, abdominal cramps, nausea, sick feeling, feeling full in the throat,on and on and on.

Welcome to our community!! If you haven't yet, please do read through our "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread that sits at the top of the forum. It's packed with all kind of helpful and important information about dealing with these infections, going through treatments, symptoms lists, detoxing suggestions and so much more!

Do be sure that the doctor that you are going to go see for treatment is on board with ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society) standards of treatment. Otherwise you could end up seeing someone that believes in only the IDSA's standards - Lyme is hard to catch, easy to treat and there is no such thing as chronic Lyme - which leaves people needing more treatment for an ongoing infection.

Were you interested in what each band indicates, or just if we believe that based on your results you have Lyme? Based on your results, there's no doubt and combined with your symptoms - there's no room for even a smidgen of doubt!

And if there was ever a group of people that would understand the phrase "I'm so glad it's Lyme!" It's this group!!! LOL! At least you now know that you have something that is treatable and can be beat!

Actually, from what I understand, the IgM only means an active infection, not a 'new' infection - and the IgG response can start to show as early as 3 weeks.

The Western Blot is based on immune response, the Lyme bacteria is not what they are looking for. Lyme, especially when combined with Bartonella, inhibits the immune response, so these tests aren't terribly accurate, although there are very few false positives. But for results like yours, the test is still very helpful.

Continue posting here, and I'll bet it won't be long and you will know how good your LLMD is!! We have a tendency to call 'a spade a spade' here! LOL! We'll let you know if we believe you aren't getting good treatment!! LOL!

And ask all the questions you need to! It's not only how we get to know each other, but why we have such a wonderful community here - we like to help each other as much as we can because we understand that we are in this together!
