Typical dosage of bactrim DS for Bart?

What is the typical dosing??

My doc has suggested I stay on doxy another month, but at 100 mg bid, and has added in bactrim and nystatin, as well as gse.

Thoughts?? What is the typical mg dose of bactrim to knock out Bart (he said to take one pill a day - half am and half PM)...? What is the "norm"? And for how long?

Also thoughts on 100 mg doxy bid??

I thought the norm was 1 pill twice daily. That's what I was on.

100 mg doxy twice per day is simply too low. Dr.B said some
Lyme bacteria become resistant with Low doses like that and eventually it loses its bacteriostatic properties even.

I just watched the video of Dr. B., too and it has changed my practice of reducing my herxes by lowering my antibiotic dose. I will instead stop my abx for two/three days...and then go right back to full dose.
He gave an example of a woman he treated who did something like a full dose one day a month for a year and was getting better.

I thought ramping up was the way to go...but not after seeing the video. And the talk Burrascano gave is recent (2014)

So I could take 1 pill of Bactrim ds twice daily, while still on 200 mg twice daily of doxy? Possibly pulsing the full dose of doxy?

I'm asking bc this doc is willing to help but not with ilads, and open to suggestions.

I take 1.5 tabs two times a day. I pulse this every other day. I am also pulsing biaxin.

Thanks! So you pulse the Bactrim every other day, or you take Bactrim and pulse the doxy every other day?

Yeah, I take 500mg Biaxin and 1.5 tabs bactrim twice a day every other day. Same day for both. . .

Ugh, this is so frustrating.
Yeah thank you LymePickle - resistant Lyme is not an option.

I was going to drop abx officially today, but saw my integrative md this morning who suggested one more month of doxy, and based on my sx thought I should be on Bactrim and Nystatin...

I don't think he's all that clear on dosing of the abx for LD and was kind of looking to me to make "suggestions" (he's fairly new to this, I believe, and is not ilads). I want to stay on abx just a bit longer to try to knock down some of the Bart and bust some cysts before I go to a 100% herbal protocol.

I have an appt with a new LLND at the beginning of December. I've had it with the LLMD near me, so until the first week in Dec. my only resources are my herbalist and my integrative doc.

The antibiotics I have on hand are (plenty of both): doxy and Bactrim. Suggestions?? Should I just stay on 200 mg bid of doxy, and add 1 pill bid of Bactrim? (Plus nystatin) or pulse doxy...? I will not go down to the 100 mg. I'll give me doc a call next week, but would love your input since I'm going to have to give some input to him.

Anyone? LymePickle maybe...?

Okay, so in case anyone's interested, I've decided to go with my original plan: no more antibiotics for the next 4 weeks (at least).

Using my herbalist to guide me with herbs/supplements, no nystatin either - going to use coconut oil, theives, garlic, and AZO yeast instead.

I see an new LLND at the beginning of Dec.

I wish I had more options for doctors near me...
