I've been on antibiotic for 15 months now....with those, I've also been on bunch on vitamins and herbal stuffs my doctor had me take. Last visit, we discussed about taking me off antibiotics in 2 months. I also told her that I'm thinking about phasing out some of the optional vitamins.
So, the vitamins ran out and one of the transfer factors ran out (was waiting on shipment of this one), and within 3 days after the transfer factor ran out, I began a week of herxing hell with joints pain, exhaustion and muscle ache. Note that I was fine even with phasing out the vitamins, the herx only started after the transfer factor ran out. Back on vitamins, exhaustion mostly gone, joints pain still on-and-off but less intense.
Questions I have are:
1.) Is this normal after being on antibiotics for such a long time? I mean shouldn't I not have that much of these bacteria in me to cause these kinds of herx anymore. Does this mean I should be on antibiotics longer?
2.) If this is all about vitamins and transfer factor, does this mean I'll have to be on them for the rest of my life?
3.) If these are unusual, what suggestion do you have?
I'm seeing my LLMD again in about a week and a half, and would like to get some idea on what to discuss with her and more insight on this to be able to have a productive discussion....so any input or comment you can provide, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
