When to resort to IV ABX

At what stage in treatment do you go the IV route? If you are feeling better just with oral should you still supplement with IV to really hit it hard or stick with oral?

What does your doc day? Mine said IV was a must based on advanced stage..

First check for how long your insurance company will cover it. In some states it is only for 30 days, and maybe up to 60 days if LLMD pushes enough. In my opinion it is not worth the hassles if all you will get is 30 days.

Also look at your deductibles. Under ObamaCare most of us are getting higher deductible plans before any coverage kicks in.

Also IM Rocephin may be an alternative. Its covered as a normal Rx copay and almost as effective. Google IM vs IV Rocephin to see some studies.

What is IM rocephin? Ceftin?

I had IV Rocephin filed by amox, doxy and flagyl add made almost a complete recovery from very late advanced lyme. Now I had a major relapse and I'm going to back on IV in the next week or two. If you have any Neuro symptoms then I think IV is a must.

IM is Intra Muscular (like needle and syringe in the back side). Not as good as IV, but more affordable.

Well, I was a pretty severe case by most anybody's standards and healed with herbs only - so I don't see IV as necessary for most people.

IV abx have the highest incidence of of relapses and of complications, but the choice remains yours - what you wish to use.
