During my last appointment with my LLMD, she took some blood for testing and ordered several more through labcorp. I haven't gotten any results back from anyone. I figured either someone would contact me or we would just go over it during my next visit in a couple weeks.
This morning, I received a phone call from the dept of public health telling me I tested positive for antibodies for a tick borne disease. I think she said anaplasmosis. She then asked me a bunch of questions regarding symptoms and where I could have possibly been exposed and contracted it.
I admit it was surprising. I was just wondering if anyone was called and asked a bunch of questions.

My mother is a stroke patient and the dept. of public health tried to get information from her
after she was treated for salmonella. Her assisted living facility referred them to me.
I was asked similar questions.
I wonder if anaplasmosis is a reportable disease like salmonella is...

I should have typed this first:
So sorry to hear that you have anaplasmosis! Was this a surprise or confirmation of your
LLMD's diagnosis?

Lol. That's okay. I have only ever been clincally diagnosed at this point. So it was actually the first test that came back positive for anything. So it did actually confirm it for me. Sometimes I still wonder if they missed something or I just happen to have something else going on. But that seems to be the norm for us lymies.

I thought I had something that was going to get me quarantined.

Me too. But as weird as it was, I guess it's good they are asking questions and trying to gather information. I'm trying to set it as a positive step in the right direction.

That's next...we'll all be quarantined because we have lyme disease...they will go from denying it even exists to it being a highly contagious disease....
That's how they'll shut us up...

Don't feel bad I was diagnosed with an infection a few years ago and the doctors all came in the room with those crazy monkey suits on. I was horrified- hilarious because they didn't tell my family to suit up! Apparently it was contagious. No doubt these infections make us more susceptible to other infections.

Are you serious?! Was it lyme or tick-borne related? I understand the need for caution, but that's ridiculous. I would have been terrified if I saw that.

No dont worry it wasn't any of the coinfections or Lyme! it must not have been too serious as the nurse came in (-and then everyone else did too) a few minutes later without any gear on. did throw me for a loop though and I couldnt stop laughing.. Grown men do not look right in hair nets (or whatever those things were!)
