My meds made me very ill. I went off them for a few days and I returned to my baseline. I was able to function. I went Christmas shopping, and I was able to eat!!
I decided to give the meds another try (200 mino/1000 flagyl). After the second day of returning on the meds, I became very sick again.
I awakened with a severe panic attack that lasted most of the day, my fatigue and weakness doubled. All I could do is lay on the sofa all day and cry! I also cry a lot! I never used to!!! I am so non functioning! I feel too weak and sick.
Yes, I detox! It does not help at all!
I just don't know what to do. How sick do the rest of you get? It seems many on here still have jobs and are able to still function. I can't! I just don't know how bad this is supposed to be and is it normal to be as sick as me? I am really scared.
The psychological stuff is the worst! Followed by the severe weakness. I feel like I am going crazy and that I belong in a mental hospital. I was fine before starting the abx because I was taking an antipressant and it worked! It helped me eat, sleep, and ended my panic. (Doxepin 100 mgs). But since starting abx, all of that came back!
Is this normal? How bad do you all herx? I'm scared I will have to come off all abx and not be treated!
I'm reaching out because I am really scared and really sick.
Thank you for reading this.

You are going through too much - I think you need to talk to your Dr. Maybe you need to start on a lower dose for a few weeks, and a slower rate of die-off.
Can you call your Dr. and ask if you can do a half dose of mino for a few weeks, and increase to full dose after you've been okay on the half dose for a while. Then maybe add the Flagyl in after that?

Utahgal—
I am so sorry—this sounds miserable. No, it IS miserable because I can identify with a lot of it. THe psychological attack is the worst. Mine have exploded recently and I swear I am going to lose my mind—much worse than the pain. Much worse.
I am confusing a lot of conversations—but did you already mention if you got checked for any DNA mutations? If you have MTHFR issues you can do everything under the sun to detox but won't actually be able to effectively detox without specific support.
And agree w/ Girlie—if the issue isn't detoxing, you might need to discuss a different meds approach. Too much herxing can be dangerous and interfere with healing.

I'm right there with you!! My medicine makes me sick! How? I get dizzy, my symptoms flare up, brain fog, sick to my stomach. I am the only one supporting myself so I have to do the mind over matter and hope I don't pass out or something crazy at work. My job is a desk job and very redundant so that's the only way I'm able to function. I cover it well they say at work but my outer appearance is something that I can fix and some days I'm able to fake it others I'm just blah.

Thanks everyone. My LLMD did finally get back to me and agree that I am too sick. I'm going to drop the flagyl and just take the mino.
I do have the MTHFR double mutation. He increased my supplement from 1 mg to 10 mgs!!
He also suggests that at my next appt I try a glutathione IV.
Thank God I'm not crazy! Lol.
I'm sorry you are all dealing with this too. Thanks for listening and sharing.

Utahgal-I'm glad you were able to get in touch with your LLMD and switched some stuff up. I have heard many many good things about
glutathione IV's so best of luck with them that they will alleviate some of your symptoms!

Good to hear that update Utahgal!
I totally agree with the glutathione. I thought this was a great article:
