This is probably a question I should ask my doctor but I'm sure you guys can be just as helpful until I can talk to the doc. My doctor prescribed multiple antibiotics for my treatment plan. She told me to start with doxy and when I felt like I was handling that ok then add amoxicillin then plaquenil then start taking Tindamax for 5 days in a row each month. I listened to everything she said but I guess my memory isn't so great plus the last visit was information overload. So is it normal to be taking all these antibiotics at the same time? I'm definitely feeling well enough on the doxy after one and a half weeks to add the amoxicillin. She also wrote on the bottom of the page "changing antibiotics every three months" which made me think I am supposed to take doxy for 3 months then amox and so on.

Yes, some LLMD's are quite aggressive in their treatment approach, and may prescribe that many abx to be taken all at the same time.

I think it's a good idea to add them one at a time like she suggests.

As for the instruction on the bottom of the page, I think you're going to need to ask the doctor for clarification...

ok, thanks for the response. I was pretty sure that was what she meant. I question my memory quite often. I go back in February so I'm sure she will let me know then

It could easily be that the doc, as part of the overall treatment plan, wants you to know "this is what we'll do now, then we'll change it up in three months to keep the little buggers off balance." Not unusual to see a note like that at the end of MD instructions.

I agree with the previous comments about adding in the abx one at a time. This is good because if you have a nasty response you'll know which one likely is the culprit.

the doxy/amoxi/plaquenil combo should go OK, but I think you should stay alert when you add in the Tindamax, you might need extra fluids, lots of detox baths, etc.
It's actually exciting to hear your doc is willing to get after it like that! High hopes for you!

Please call your Doc's office and ask for a repeat of the instructions and take precise notes! If it is unclear, don't gamble, get it down so you can refer back to it. Maybe she can send you a printout? Good luck! :)
