Hi Ginger,
It is hard to keep your spirits up when this marathon effort to get well again goes on so long without us knowing how long it will last.
James is really on to something there. Try something new; it may shake things up. Whenever I hit a plateau and wanted to jump start my healing, I tried a new form of exercise, or a supplement or asked my doctor to change up my meds. Even going on a short trip can "stir things up" and give your medications and supplements a chance to work against the bacteria.
Also, when you are mourning the things you can't do, it is a good idea to find something you can do. For example, I used my time on the couch to sort out my family photographs. It was a perfect activity: I could work on it as I felt able and it didn't take any physical activity.
As for Christmas, I invited friends and family over to help me decorate and do some cooking. It wasn't the way I would have done it, but it was actually more fun!
I hope you turn the corner soon.
