Lyme Roughy posted for the first time in a rather long thread, and I noticed that they didn't get much of a welcome because their post was buried, so I'm moving it to it's own thread!!!

I'm so sorry that I missed your first post as well - I only saw it as I was checking for something else!

"Hello and I'm new to this site. And I'm a life long undiagnosed Lymer.
I've been on Abx for years. I'm one that knows to listen to our bodies and not listen to many Drs. They just care about not losing their liscences. I'm in a deperate frame of mind. It's hard to keep fighting.
I want to well more than anyone. 15+ years have been taken away from me.

I'm here to read and learn and try anything. I'm almost 60. Family is over 2,000 miles away. I can't travel for holidays. So the silence is deafening. If you get my meaning.

I'm back on Abx Amox and a new tic bite and they had to dig the head out of my stomach yesterday. My other bite was in 99. And now I've had a temp of 101* today.

I'm trying to just focus on a good nights sleep. I'm probably. Not making much sense. I'm use to that. I'm glad to read what I can here and just keep learning. I'm down to 87 pounds. My norm is 120 - 140.

Any thoughts are most welcome and any questions on past treatments. Thank you in your research for a better life."

I'm so very sorry that you have been dealing with this for so long!! I have healed from a 40+yr set of tick-borne infections only to get reinfected again this year! Ugh!! But healing is very possible for all of us!

I would encourage you to start including a high amount of healthy fats to your diet - avocados, nuts, nut butters, dried fruit, and others. Drink smoothies, eat yogurt with bananas (yum!) and to be sure to eat very healthy.

If you haven't yet, please do spend some time reading through our "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread as it is packed full of really wonderful information that you will find quite helpful. Things like symptom lists (as Lyme rarely travels by itself), detoxing suggestions (very important in our healing!!), and even probiotic information!

Are you seeing a LLMD? Do you wish to? We can help you find one, or you can choose to treat with alternative medicines.

Ammox needs to be combined with probenecid to keep it in the blood stream longer in order to be effective against Lyme disease. You can find out more in Dr. Burrascano's paper, "Advanced Topics in Lyme Disease". There is a link to this in the "New to Lyme?" thread that I mentioned above.

As we learn more of what you are doing and what you are dealing with, there will be many more suggestions that will come in for things that you can consider using to help heal yourself and get through this.

For sleep, are you taking magnesium, melatonin or anything else? I also like to have in my nighttime routine a nighttime tea - I have used Celestial Seasoning's Sleepytime and Bigelow's Sweet Dreams tea. It's mainly the routine that means the most, but a very dark room for sleeping, and either very quiet, or some background noise that you find comforting/soothing, not too warm and not too cool.

I hope you can find some comfort here. No, I know you will.

Even with such a long-held infection, I am sure you can get some help to feel better. Good health is worth the fight!

Hi lyme roughy, & welcome to the forum! You will find lots of good advice and information here, and even more importantly, lots of SUPPORT from everyone here . . . because we all have an idea of what you are going through, have hit similar dead ends and experienced the same frustration with doctors & lack of proper treatment . . . Lyme disease can be very isolating, but you really will feel less alone here, we're all in it together and are all rooting for each other, so I do hope you will ask questions, post often & let us know how you're getting on :-)
