bad stomach problems

for about a week my stomach won't stop gurgling. It hurts ,feels bloated, and I have watery stool, upper and lower abdominal pain. I think the bacterial infection is in my stomach.(possible Bart?) also have burning feet and sore legs, sore throat and earache in both ears, and a very bad headache like my head is going to explode. thought it could be yeast but taking nystatin pills two, twice a day and no improvement. Still take primal defense ultra probiotic twice a day 3 pills at a time. feels slightly better when I first take antibiotic but slowly comes back between doses.

Anyone have these problems. What can I take .Need something easy to find and not too expensive. I've tried herbal teas like peppermint and fennel which are supposed to settle stomach They were no help at all.

Ginger, I agree with you that it is a yeast infection. I went through that a few weeks ago. I also had this burping issue with the gurgling. As for the ears, I had pressure, ringing, and pain at times.

If Nystatin pills are not working for you then it is time to upgrade to Nystatin powder. it works much better than the pills.

As for me, I threw everything but the kitchen sink to it and was able to get rid of it. What I did was that I switched probiotics to NOW Foods Probiotic-10 50 Billion. I added milk kefir, DGL Licorice, started taking Monolaurin in pellet form. And for a week I took Fluconazole.

I looked up the probiotic that you are using (primal defense ultra probiotic) and I didn't get that warm fuzzy feeling about it. Their website says that it has 13 species of "beneficial cultures including soil-based probiotics". However, they only note Bacillus subtilis and Saccharomyces boulardii. They tout soil bacteria but that is the Bacillus subtilis, which very common. As far as the Saccharomyces boulardii, well that is a yeast, and if your are taking Nystatin then it is possible that you are killing the Saccharomyces boulardii yeast with the Nystatin. On top of that, you have to take 3 pills to equal 15 billion cell count. That is very low to make a difference, specially for someone on antibiotics.

My suggestion is for you to review what you are taking and see if there is something better that you can take since it appears that what you take now is not working too well.

I should add that the probiotics that I take are cheaper (and have more strains and more probiotic bacteria) than what you take and that the DGL had a pleasant side effect of making me less tired. If you look up licorice you will see that it helps the adrenals which is what makes people so tired most of the time. DGL is also not expensive and if you buy the German Chocolate flavored, they taste like chocolate and are delicious.

Oh yeah, Nystatin is not going to help you if the yeast is outside of the stomach. You need Fluconazole for that. Fluconazole works on the entire body vs Nystatin only working in the GI tract.

Babesia/bartonella was terrible on my gut. I lost 40 lbs in 3 weeks when I first came down with it. Couldn't eat at all. Also had big time kidney issues. DRs were really scared. Never saw them panic like that. I was diagnosed much later on and started taking antibiotics and my guts were terrible again for about a month. Lost a lot of weight. Running to the toilet 10 times a day and night. Miserable. No energy. Did almost nothing. Pretty much sleeping or in bed all the time just like you said. All of my symptoms were exactly the same. I didn't find a ton of relief. I used pepto, ginger, acid blockers, lots of probiotics, kefer, and tried to detox a ton. I talked to my LLMD and he felt it was a massive die off. Awful. After about a month my gut regulated and I take the antibiotics WAY better. I can't believe my body regulated so much. I have been terrible with antibiotics my whole life and I am on a heavier dose than ever before. I will admit every time I start a different antibiotic I have a terrible time with my guts then they regulated again after 2-3 weeks. Also I got a massive intestinal yeast infection in my guts about 4 months into treatment from all the antibiotics. I took fluconazole for a month. Not easy to take. Also gave me lots of issues. I have never heard of the other medication you took. Fluconazole was pretty cheap. Commonly used. I am guy, not exactly par for the course having yeast issues if you know what I mean. I was miserable but I feel much better now. Very happy I took fluconazole. I would agree Traveler has a lot of helpful advice for your issues. It is also smart to discuss your issue with your LLMD or DR. They are their to help as best as they can.

As far as your husband goes I can relate. Some of my family members and friends just don't get what is going on with me. It goes to 3 categories. The first is I have the plague so it hard for them to be around me. The second is they don't understand why you can't take a pill for a month and be over it. I just need to try harder. Right. That is the issue. It's just being ignorant. The third is they understand my infection is complicated and hard to get rid of and they try the best to support me but also get frustrated because let's face it, illness can be aggravating and hard for all involved. Try to be patient. I am guessing your husband is in the last category. Also some people just DON'T understand it. I don't get it but they just don't. I try to educate and talk about the complexity of the illness and use similar examples, and they just don't get it. Sometimes I just snap after a while and say, duuuh I am sick, leave me ALONE. It's frustrating. I don't wish those people ill will but I hope they never become ill themselves. Their attitude will change. Illness is tough. All the best to you and your healing.
