Lyme......Am I losing my mind?

Hi all………. Could use some help please! Not feeling well at all these days and Im fairly
certain I may have Lyme although I’ve been told otherwise after a negative lyme test. As per
an experienced friend’s suggestion, I asked the Nurse Practitioner what lab the test was
conducted at and she got very defensive, almost yelling at me “ you don't have Lyme”. I had
an extensive amount of blood work done when seeing the docs 3 weeks ago while complaining
of aching, soreness and weakness in my arms, shoulders and neck, tingling and numbness in
my hands……,sometimes in my legs and feet. Neck stiffness, mysterious aches and pains without reason, sharp stabbing ringing in ears, Head aches, and ridiculously tired and fatigued.
All theses symptoms started in a minor way three years ago when I had my first “panic attack”
as was diagnosed by a psychiatrist I started seeing . She treated me for “Anxiety Disorder” for
a year on meds………Did not help! My current doctor has me pegged for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or Degenerative Disc Disease. I do know that I live in the Hudson Valley/ Dutchess
County in NY……..The Hotbed of Lyme, live and work on a horse farm where 60 percent of
the horses have been tested positive and treated for Lyme (why is that not controversial?)
We have deer grazing the lawn year round…….Both my dogs have been tested positive and treated for Lyme as well as my partner. I too have been treated in the past on a number of occasions after removing embedded ticks from my body. I’ve never had the bulls eye rash!
Am i going crazy?

Years ago I had a doctor literally jumping up and down shouting "Just because it is Delaware County (another hot bed of Lyme), and you are a horticulturist, and you have all the symptoms does not mean you have Lyme!" What an idiot.

Anyway, yes, get a Lyme Literate Doctor. We can help you find one. Also, have a look at the New to Lyme? thread at the top of the forum. There is a lot of information and resources there.

You should go see Horowitz. He shouldn't be too far from you! I'm sure he has a long waiting list, but I think he has other docs who work for him now. You may be able to get in with one of them sooner!

Here's the thing - the medical community knows nothing about lyme. Honest doctors will tell you that. My gyno just told me that there is barely any research being conducted on Lyme compared to other illnesses.

My husband and I both nearly went crazy and I mean that literally. We both had neurolyme and wee refused recognition by many many drs including every single dr. In our local "renowned" hospital despite the exact symptoms. My husbands dr. Even told me, I know you were "hanging your hat on lyme " but it's not it but had no clue how to test him cause he didn't know what it was.

That being said, I have since then "diagnosed" many people who are now in treatment despite misdiagnosis.

If you really believe you have lyme, you need to get to an LLMD. It will be the best decision of your life. We have our lives back and our sanity.

Thank you everyone for all the kind responses and suggestions. I have gotten referrals
for 3 different LLMD's in my area and will try and make an appointment tomorrow. Hopefully
it won't takes months for me to be seen. Thanks!
