Can't move my bowels!

I can't move my bowels without an extraordinary amount of persistence and outside help. Normally glycerin suppositories used to work fine, but they no longer do.

I've tried fiber to no avail (or not much avail). I've tried beets and popcorn--nothing.

I'm going to have to move to retention enemas next.

If you're going to give me suggestions--I can't do any gluten, and whatever it is has to be on the candida diet.

When I do poop, it's like pooping rocks!!

I've taken massive doses of Vitamin C and powdered Mag. Citrate--still not helping.

My PT said I need soluble and insoluble fiber from food.

I'm going to try hemp online, but I doubt it will help.

Magnesium oxide pulls water into the lower bowel. If that's where the issue is, that'll take care of it. Start off with 500 - 1,000 mgs and build your dose up.

Be careful with stimulant laxatives, as they can cause not only dependence, as Sayydina said, but it can cause explosive diarrhea, which would cause a lot of bloating before the "rocks" get moved out of your intestines.

I use something called oxypowder by Ghc. I swear by it.

Fiber- psyllium husk- works for me. You have to take it continually, like a few capsules at a time, every day. Also, magnesium. Different kinds. I'm currently taking citrate and malate and it helps.

That's a terrible feeling! On the bags of Epsom salts I have it states you can mix some Epsom salts in water and drink that for relief.. I have done it in the past when I had an emergency (due to not eating right) and had to go but couldn't. It's safe to do and usually works the next morning.

Epsom salts is really magnesium.

I recently was having a problem going and was taking laxatives. Then I started drinking a smoothie every morning with ground flax seed, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, kale, coconut milk I make myself, banana and frozen fruit strawberries or red raspberry, black raspberry and blue berries. No problems now

I take Yogi brand Get regular tea, with senna. Msn that helps and it is not as painful as other stimulant laxatives.

Those are great suggestions. You wouldn't believe the amounts of Magnesium Citrate and Vitamin C I consume, still nothing. I don't think I should do any heavy duty seeds right now, bc of the fact that I am passing bloody mucus.

I can't do ACV; it gives me migraines. I wish I could.

I've been going the smoothie route with the flax for a long time.

I haven't tried consuming the epsom salts yet; it seems intimidating.

Does anyone else have experience with Miralax?

Simela, I laughed when I read the "You gotta go," statement, even though I know it's true. I do go every once in awhile, esp. with the help of regular H2O enemas, which I try to use as retention enemas.

I'm scared to do coffee enemas. Coffee doesn't just give me migraines; it makes me feel strange all over.

I'm also worried about the bloody mucus thing. I think I have indeed been invaded by space aliens.

Constipation is very common for many people and usually is due to diet. People don't drink enough water, eat enough fiber, etc. Some foods can bind you up and what happens? Your poop will go back into your bloodstream causing you to be very toxic and even cause those headaches.

There are so many reasons that cause bad bowel habits. Teragram, if you have the money maybe go see a nutritionist. Some are lactose-intolerant and that can cause constipation.

A good brand of Aloe Vera Juice can help as well as increasing your water intake. If you feel intimated by drinking Epsom salts mixed in water, then maybe buy a product called CALM (comes in different flavors) which I have used in the past.

I usually don't even know that I need to get to a bathroom until I only have a few minutes before there is 'an issue', which either means a great deal of pain as I cramp trying to 'hold it' or I will not be able to move my bowels that day because I waited too long. It's not nearly as bad as it used to be though.

I used to also have issues with although I knew that I needed to go, but nothing was moving - ie severe constipation like situation. The muscles weren't getting the right signals to move my intestines. It created pseudo-blockages. For me all of this was due to Neuro Lyme and since then have healed a great deal, and my intestinal function has gotten better - but what ever nerve or set of nerves that let's a person know that they need to get to a bathroom soon seems to be permanently damaged for me. But, my first time around with these infections being untreated lasted for over 40 years.

i lost 90% sensation of a bowel movement, I lost the urge of a bowel movement. usually when your about to poop you can feel it in your intestines, but i dont feel anything at all, until the spincther acts up.

Yep! Although I do get a bit more of a warning, it's pretty much only a minute or so more than you get. I do just fine when it's just hubby and me at home, as I know my body's routine when it wants to stick to it. Things get exciting when our daughter comes up with our two young grandsons though!! LOL! I generally try to get up early enough (they are late sleepers) so that my body has the time to do what it needs to do without worrying about who's going to be in the bathroom and for how long!! LOL!!!
