Hi there,

Sorry you are having so many worrisome symptoms.

It looks like you are asking the same questions in this post that members already answered in your previous posts.

What does your doctor say? Have you been tested for Lyme disease? Are you getting any treatment?

Good luck with your appointment. It is a great idea to have your symptoms all written down when you see the doctor.

I had minimal symptoms for a couple years. And then I had my son and BAM! Lyme kicked it up a notch and started really messing with me. I think stress/trauma gives it the upper hand sometimes. Good luck at your appointment!! Keep us posted

I had very subtle symptoms for several months (weight loss, often times feeling like I was coming down with the flu)...but not so much that I really suspected anything was wrong. I generally still felt healthy. Then..BAM, one day really strange things started happening and I felt terrible. Within a month of that, I developed a host of crazy symptoms, and the rest is history!

Things really hit the fan for me after a period of extreme personal stress in my life. I wouldn't be surprised if that sped things up and really brought things out.

Well, benedryl shouldn't be causing the sensation of pins and needles. What other conditions do you feel you could have? Lyme mimics over 300 other conditions.

It's very likely that the doc you are going to see on Tues won't be able to diagnose you with Lyme. There are programs that can help you pay for testing and for at least some treatments. I don't have any idea if there are any LLMD's in your area that will be willing to accept Medi-cal for their fees, but if you wish to send me an email, I'll be happy to share the LLMD's contact info with you from that area - just be sure to include what area you hope to find a LLMD in your email.

Lyme is spread through other insects as well as ticks - mosquitoes, biting flies of all types, fleas, bed bugs and pretty much any insect that can bite and survive to bite again has the potential to pass these infections along. We've had members that have been infected by a spider, by an ant and other insects. Many have no idea what gave them these infections.

Lyme symptoms can come on fast and strong, or develop over months or years. It depends on how well the immune system is functioning, how much stress the body is under, if there are other conditions that the body is dealing with and more.

And I have had those loss of sensations that you spoke of in the top post on this thread. Neuro Lyme affects all the nerves, even the ones that control or send the signal that we are hungry, that we need to poo or urinate. Once you heal the infection, then the nerves can heal and likely will be back to normal.

Benedryl won't be causing symptoms 2 weeks after you last took it though. Unfortunately, any doc other than a Lyme Literate doc will attribute your symptoms to everything and anything other than Lyme disease, and trying to bring up Lyme disease to them won't do you any good as they won't recognized it, diagnose it or treat it.

Every single one of the symptoms that you have mentioned can easily be explained by one condition (Lyme disease), rather than the odd idea that you suddenly have developed 5 or more different conditions all at the same point in time. Lyme is much more of a possibility, believe me.

Even with your current financial situation, there is hope. There are ways to save on your treatments, or you can use natural therapies to heal. It's not either use a LLMD or try to live with an infection. And we can help you with a lot of information you may need.

lymedisease1...my crazy symptoms are on a long list, but to name a few, severe stomach issues, nausea, terrible muscle twitching, blurry vision, tremors, forgetfulness, numbness, nerve issues, inability to gain weight, sore muscles/joints, vibration feelings, shooting pains, skin issues...the list goes on. All of those developed within a few weeks. It took almost a year after that to find out I had Lyme.

Lyme can affect every system, no matter where it is or what it is. It will make the adrenals work so hard, the person can enter into severe adrenal fatigue, bring on Hashimotos's thyroiditis, hypo or hyper thyroid states - you name it and Lyme can mess with it.

There are no one set of symptoms that means that it is or isn't Lyme disease. Many have a lot of systems affected to one level or another, but not always. I've talked with lots of people over the years and have heard everything from a skin disorder to psychiatric issues with Lyme and the other tick-borne infections. If given the time untreated Lyme will mess with every system in the body - including the brain.

I have had periods of narcolepsy due to advanced Lyme as well. Lyme can and does affect every aspect of our bodies when it's allowed to go on long enough without adequate treatment.
