My eyes are BURNING help

Hey all,

Sorry if I don't type this correctly as I'm typing with eyes closed at the moment. I've been on antibiotics for 2 months and I've seen a big improvement in my anxiety which was the main symptom. In the last week, I was able to go out without any anxiety or any symptoms at all which made me really happy. Then the weather changed and got colder and I'm guessing that brought on a cold. It feels like hayfever. My eyes have been itchy and gritty for a few days but it's gotten really bad today.

they're really dry, gritty, hot and red. And they keep tearing up.. On top of that I'm still sneezing non stop and have a really runny nose. I've gone through a whole box of tissues today and my face just feels so raw. I used eyedrops but I find that it provides relief for about 5 seconds..

I can't keep my eyes open for more than 10 seconds or it burns and tears start streaming down my face.

The only thing that's helped so far is taking a hot shower (I'm guessing the humidity helps).


Does anyone have this symptom? And if you do, what has helped you so far?

I'm really worried because I missed my first day of trade school and I"ll probably miss out this whole week so I don't know what to do! I see my LLMD on the 21st of Feb.

I just had a thread about this the other day. It's bartonella, apparently. I feel you. What kind of eyedrops are you using? I find the antihistamine ones help a little more.

Sounds like angioderma, i advise seeking a medical professional asap

Lyme itself causes the burning symptoms, it is not just specific for bartonella. The burning could be associated to either one..

The eye burning symptoms lasted for a few months for me. I still feel it try to creep up every now and then. It actually started after I took Tindy....apparently that one stirred everything up in my body big time. I know its hard, but try not to think about it. Ive been through SO MANY diff symptom phases that I thought at the time would never end and finally they did (but thats not to say something else wont start acting up--just being honest). Just ride the waves of treatment and eventually you'll get to a point where symptoms are more minimal.

Its the result of overactivation of the immune system, When your immune system is suppresed by borrelia and you take something that kills it, your immune system goes into overdrive to kill it, causing inflammation that is also bad for the person, this happens with treatment of HIV as well.

It can very well be a symptom of lyme or bartonella as I mentioned. Please refer to the master symptom lists. I would be happy to provide some links if you need Lymedisease1 that burning all over/migrating can in fact be a symptom.
