I've waited 2 weeks for my son's lyme and co-infections test--got results for parv virus instead

THis is unbelievable! I waited and waited and waited, made over 20 phone calls for my son's tests for the result because the lab wasn't picking up the phone and the dr. didn't get the results. Had to call costumer service from LabCorp to find out what happened to the tests. THey said there was no fax and no phone number on the test order and they couldn't reach the dr. Yeah, right, they couldn't reach a dr who works in one of the biggest hospitals in the US! I had to give Labcorop the phone nr and the fax nr of the dr because they were too lazy to look it up.

I called the dr's office yesterday and asked them if they got the fax with the results and asked that the dr calls me back. He did not, not yesterday and not today. I called again today and asked that the results be faxed to us. THey faxed the results for... the parv virus. No results for lyme, barto, babesia, nothing!

I don't know who messed up, but this is the biggest, stupidest thing I can tell you I've ever had to go through. Very sloppy and careless from the beginning to end. I really wish we didn't have to pay insurance because everything is a big mess and I am getting no where, not with the labs, not with the doctors.

What if this was a life threatening situation?

I'm sorry Simela! My rheum thought I could have had Parvovirus. Apparently, people with Parvo frequently have Lyme.

But this is non-Lyme friendly way of ignoring the big elephant in the room that they don't want to address, LYME! I tested negative for Parvo and had Lyme antibodies, but there was "No way I had Lyme."

I hope they actually ran the Lyme tests and they turn up. Sorry that you're struggling so much. Hang in there!

LOL! Careful, Simela, now you are starting to sound like me!! But to have the test that you request done, not a different one is a pretty big slip up!!

That was pretty bad! I hope they realized how badly they messed up and will do it right next time...if you use them. You shouldn't have to pay for a re-do.

On one of my blood tests, they missed doing the thyroid test and had me come in for another blood draw at no charge. I appreciated that.

you might want to try another lab, This one is obviously have administrative problems, that is not easily fixed, or wants to be fixed. Many corporation thrive on giving and doing very little while maximizing thier profit.
