Treatment-how long? Date of infection??

Ok-this might be a eyes dumb line of questioning, as everyone with varied with multi-buggers & different immune systems...

But how long, would you estimate treatment to be? 1-3yrs?

And I seem to notice some similarity with years symptoms first noticed, (tho I know some have carried since childhood). Does it seem many infected/diagnosed between the years 2005-2008-ish?

It really depends on so many things, happyjo, it would be impossible to say.

Agreed. Every body has a different ability to fight illness, depending on the condition of your organs, genetics, age, etc.

It has been said that symptoms seem to really come to a head 5 years after infection, so that may be why you see the majority of those infectioned during those years. I was infected I believe in 2000 and starting seeking treatment in 2005.

I was bit in July 2005 treated 30 days doxy with no sx.
Nerve pain started in March 2008 and other sx progressed.
Finally diagnosed and began treatment in March 2010.
Still on ABX after 5 years, but back 90% healthy.

happyjo -- I don't know the "perfect" time frame, as I think it just depends on the person. But my LLMD said for ME, he thinks 2-3 years. However, he has patients that take longer and probably some that take less. I did hear him say that he would tell EVERYONE at least a few years, and would never say anything sooner than that to completely eradicate Lyme and co-infections.

I think that a very best case scenario, if someone were to see a LLMD right after receiving a bite, and it was assumed they had the common co-infections, I believe it would be 6-8 months of treatment at a minimum.

Of course this does not bring into consideration detoxing and genetic mutations.

And we all know that 99% of us do not fall into that best case scenario. So pile on reversing damage such as healing the gut and immune system, supplementing hormones and vitamin deficiencies and addressing genetic mutations, well...it is no surprise that it takes 2-3 years, sometimes more.

First bite 2006 misdiagnosed with mono and sinusitis. Symptoms went away. Bit again 2012 and all hell broke loose.Got 3 weeks of abx and got worse over the next year. Found my llmd and have been in treatment for over 2 years now. Symptom free at this point and loving life!
