lyme disease and Stem cells

I did a quick search through some of the old threads. It looks like some people have tried it but while it repairs some damage, it doesn't address the infection.

It does look to be really expensive. There was a interview where a mother talked about taking her kids to India for stem cell treatment. Her son had a couple of treatments that helped him, but like achievinggrace said, it'll heal some of the damage done but you still need to fight the infection.

Honestly, if it was more affordable and if it gave me a better quality of life and a better chance to fight the infection, then I would totally try it. But I think when I read about it a while ago the base price for it now is like $40-$60,000. Other countries like Mexico and India offer it cheaper by like $20,000. *Sigh* I really wish medical science was further along and a lot cheaper for everyone. It makes me sad when I start thinking about it all.

It might be useful one day for nervous system regeneration. (damage left over after infection is treated)....the nervous system can take so long...sometimes years to repair...that stem cell therapy may be an option one day.

Hi Therman - My WBC is ranging from 3.0 to 3.5 (range: 4.0-10.0) and it's my neutrophils and lymphocytes that are slightly under range.

My GP said she wasn't worried about it. She's more concerned about my elevated ALT (Liver enzymes) than the WBC count.

How long have you been treating lyme?

You might want to start a new thread about WBC count...you may get more responses.
