GFSE is also a CP450 enzyme inhibitor. This means it slows you enzymes that metabolize drugs and in consequence, the GFSE along with your other meds don't deco properly from your body.

I think you will be ok - especially since you can tolerate it! Are you taking it daily? Not sure it is necessary to take it every day. Which brand are you taking? I wanted to take it because I wanted to take a cyst buster, but like I said I just couldn't handle it, and I will not go near flagyl or tindamax!

Lyme borreliosis , caused by B. burgdorferi sensu lato, may lead to long-term tissue infection, which may be difficult to cure. The outcome of Lyme borreliosis is highly dependant on the antibiotic treatment . The observation of the ability of B. burgdorferi sensu lato to convert (and reconvert) to cystic forms [3-5] may explain why the infection sometimes is persistent and reactivating.

Therefore, it might be important to eradicate all germative forms (not only the motile form) of the bacterium to obtain a proper treatment for Lyme borreliosis. Grapefruit-seed extract (GSE) contains bioactive flavenoids (e.g., hesperitin, resveratrol, and naringenin) and has been shown to possess anti-microbiological effect against bacteria and fungus [6,7]. Many studies indicate that GSE is a substance whose therapeutic effect ranks equal to or better than other
known anti-bacterial agents.

Conclusion: The highest GSE concentrations made the bacteria and cysts disappear completely, leaving only small uncharacteristic fragments; at lower GSE-levels the membranes showed herniation and disruption, and the contents had leaked out. The MBC was strongly dependent on the length of the incubation. GSE was very active even for very short incubation times, in agreement with previous results [7].

The MBC obtained by DFM for the motile bacteria agreed well with the TEM results. Presence of GSE reduced the conversion from spirochetes to cysts when the susceptibility testing was performed in distilled water.

This study was performed in vitro and further studies are needed to demonstrate eventual effects in vivo. From our results it will be rational to test the hypothesis that a combination of GSE and antibiotics will be efficient in the treatment of resistant Lyme borreliosis.

After trying everything under the sun to clear up my cystic acne at age 37, I tried grapefruit after reading about its ability to balance the ph level in your body and its ability to kill numerous bacteria for which I am a carrier of MRSA which it can kill also.
I am 40 now and not only is my Crohns dx in check, forget about boils and pimples anymore plus my skin looks amazing!
In addition, with Crohn's I often get an "imbalance"

And this has nothing to do with cyst busting in Lyme disease. Sorry.

Personal experience with Nutribiotic Grapefruit Seed Extract. (Trigger warning: very sad story)

I wish I could take back the ill-fated day I took the advice of a friend that I try brushing my teeth with GFSE. I used just a drop at a time on a toothbrush, sometimes alone or mixing it with my regular natural paste, and vigorously brushed it into my teeth and gums for about 5 days. At first I thought it was working wonders as it made my mouth feel SO clean and tingly. I thought it odd that I could sense that tingly sensation for days straight even after 1 use. Toward the end of that first week I discontinued use when I noticed my lips began to get unusually puffy...
Then to my horror, my lips began to go through a repeated cycle of burning, intense itching, peeling, and more of the swelling. This was all intensely painful. It would take weeks each time for my lips to heal again. No ointments I tried on them seemed to help, most made them more uncomfortable. I just had to wait in pain until they would finally heal on their own. But the healing was not permanent. I soon discovered I now had totally new food sensitivities when I have NEVER had any food allergies or food related issues to speak of ever. If I ate anything with MSG in it, even a small amount of that food, or something very salty, or random things which I cannot pinpoint exactly what the trigger ingredient was, this awful cycle would start all over again. If I ate something that day, by bedtime I could sense the lips itching and by the time I woke up they would be blown up like clown lips. Then 1-2 weeks followed of unbearable burning, itching, dryness and peeling again. The first exposure to GFSE happened 1 year ago and since then I have gone through this cycle repeatedly so many times now (it's happening currently as I write this--and when it's happening I can barely talk or eat and have to cancel all social engagements or wear a mask), it's so painful and embarrassing when it happens that I am damn near suicidal. I thought that a year later I would not be experiencing this anymore but there seems to be no end in sight. I sense that this GFSE has injured my digestive system permanently in some internal way. I am outraged and saddened because I have no recourse and there is very little information on this because it probably hasn't happened to many other people. Doctors are no help. I write this to urge people to stay away from this toxic substance. There are so many other natural ways you can ward off colds and flus or freshen your mouth without making the mistake of messing with this poison. Think about it, it's probably pure acid. Why would you want that anywhere near anything on your body? It pisses me off that I listened to my so-called friend who acts like she knows everything instead of reading the fine print on the label that says "do not use full strength in mouth". Unfortunately I learned the really really hard way. I want answers and no one has any. Please respond if you have any questions for me or insight but don't tell me how safe GFSE extract is because this has been horrible enough without having my experience invalidated, maybe it didn't affect you but you have no idea how toxic and damaging it was for me. I can't even live my life anymore. So **** GFSE!!!
