beyond frustrated 0 for 2 on antibiotics

First I was given minocycline 100mg which I had a bad reaction to causing my throat to swell up and trouble breathing, so my doctor gives me Cefuroxime Axetil 500 MG and gives me restlessness and insomnia havent been able to sleep the 3 days on it literally had to stop which is unreal because it says thats only a side effect in less than 2 percent of people that take it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please tell me im not the only one who is having issues finding an Antibiotic that works with me. I took doxy before and that worked fine but my LLMD doesn't want me to use it again for some reason im beyond frustrated and stressed because I want to get on a Med and stay with it so it can start working instead of all this trial and error stopping...................

Yeah I had a terrible reaction to ceftin about a month after I started taking it, which was frustrating for me because I was feeling much better on it. All you can do is continue trying different antibiotics and also maybe start researching some herbal treatments.

Sayyadina, were you reinfected or do you think your lyme just came out of remission?

I can take Doxycycline but Minocycline made my lips swell and itch. I have taken Bactrim and Zithromax without a problem.

Oh my. I thought it was just me. I started with cefuroxime axitl (sp) and thought it was killing me. I was a walking zombie. And plenty sick. Then I did Levofloxin (sp). Ugh. Got a terrible rib rattling cough that wouldn't go away til I got off it. Next flaygl. Well I took flaygl once for something else and did fine, but couldn't do it this time. Got short of breath, chest pains and back pains. Stopped after a week. Then started again ... Took three pills over 2 days and was right back with symptoms. Let up again. Felt better so tried once again. This time one pill landed me in bed. Can't do! Now I'm on azithromiacin 2 pills every other day and I think I'm handling it. But I too have a dreadful time with the antibiotics.

Having bad reactions to antibiotics is not necessarily an allergic reaction. These very well could be herx reactions. Did you talk to your doctor about that possibility?

Not really just figured I was allergic and got off!!! The flaygl pretty sure a reaction. The others maybe a herx but kept lasting!!! How to tell difference? I got scared with chest and back pain. Was afraid I'd have a heart attack.

Yes i def had a reaction to doxy scared the hell out of me uncontrollable shaking and depressed but was not sure if it was the doxy staryed at 400mgs right at the start with 200mgs of plaquenil so i am not sure which one was causing it i learned if i go back on doxy i will start real slow i am on ceftin which i can tolerate ok tried zinthromax and could notvtolerate that either so i am thinking antibiotics ate not for me just going to do an herbal protocol but still deciding which one i hope you find something that works

Catchshooter. Which herbal protocal are you thinking of trying? I can't see me buying weighing all those herbs. I'd rather find something already made up....
