I went to my LLMD yesterday and he said its time to pull it! After 9 months of this thing in my arm, its finally coming out. I am super excited but a bit nervous. MY doc still wants me on orals, I'm on doxy and bactrim. He said he would take one thing at a time. I will return in a month to see him and if I continue feeling well, he will remove one of the abx. Baby steps...but I'm closer to being done with treatment.
I am still left with some occasional tingling on my cheek (my first symptom when I got very sick last May) and a twitch here are there...he believes its nerve damage.

You will need to locate your original paperwork when PICC was inserted so they can get the length of the line. Its always nice to know that the whole length was removed and not broken off.
My PICC was in way too long at 16 mo and when it was removed fibers had gown around it. The first 6 to 8 inches came out easy, then it stopped. We used a warm compress to get it freed up. This was done in my office at work... not the most sterile
location.
good for you
