LLMD in pittsburgh

First I would like to say Hello to Traveler, you are the greatest. See, I am really trying to find a Lyme literate doctor in Pittsburgh. I didnt remember which sight you were on, but I saw your name under Lyme.

Anyway, does anyone know of an LLMD here in Pittsburgh. I tested negative on the TITER test, so now when I find a doctor that treats Lyme, they are only testing the ones with a positive results. This is really frustrating.

I got bit by a tick two years ago and didnt think a thing about it until I had surgery in February and then I began "vibrating" in my chest, but only when I am sleeping or resting. Not when i am up walking around. I had my heart tested and it is fine. I am also having difficulty swallowing and had tests run for that as well and they found no physical reason why I have daily trouble swallowing. Now, it just seems that life has become more difficult, more pain and things dont heal like they used to. I always get poison ivey each year after the first cut of grass for the year, but always heal within four days at the longest. This year, it took over two weeks. I do have orthopedic problems, but it seems they are worse now. I would love to hear from others who have this vibrating chest issue or difficulty swallowing. Also, if anyone has suggestions for LLMD's in Pittsburgh, I would love to hear from you.

I do have vibrations in my body, but not in my chest.

I also had difficulty swallowing and it often felt like there was a lump in my throat...and food would catch there. sometimes I would choke on my saliva. When I laid down to sleep, I would have this thick phlegm in the bottom of my throat, and would wake up several times a night, gagging, gasping for air...heart racing. My husband said it sounded like a horror movie. I even wore a monitor and was told I had sleep apnea. The c-pap did not help. My Dr. gave me acid reflux meds - didn't help, and also post nasal drip meds to dry that up...didn't help either.
Treatment for lyme disease helped, though!!!

I was checked out by a barium swallow xray, and then an ENT put a tube through my nose down my throat with a camera on it and watched my swallowing - everything was fine according to the Docs.

My swallowing issues are gone most of the time...now and then they come back, but not as bad as they were. Most nights, I am sleeping quietly...according to my husband. I'm not waking up in a panic gasping for air anymore.

So, your symptoms - definitely could be lyme disease....

Regarding the trouble swallowing - I have read it could be caused by a nerve issue. And lyme certainly does get into our nervous system.

Did you get tested through the Igenex lab in California? That is the best place.
