Most people in the Lyme community shy away from the word "cured" as it implies that you never have to worry about
it again. We don't really know all the factors that go into making someone relapse, so we can't say that a person certainly won't have to worry about
it again. And that's not to mention that you can get reinfected if you aren't taking precautions.
Healed is a much better word, as it means we can heal from the infections and have a "normal" life usually. We still have to be vigilant in protecting ourselves, eating right, keeping stress levels low and that, but everyone should be doing those things anyway, so I for one see it as more educated in how to live, not in that I'm different from others.
I've healed from 40 yr old infections of Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia, RMSF, and more, but I wasn't protecting myself as much as I should have and got reinfected. Fortunately, I knew just what to do
and am now healed from that as well.
All of that to say yes, you can heal and have a 'normal' life.
And you think you talk a lot?
Wait, you'll see, I really talk a lot!! LOL!!!
We're glad you listened to yourself, realized that there was something still wrong and found us!!
