Horrific vulvar pain burning

Does anybody know if Lyme can cause horrible vulvar pain. Vulvodynia?
I can't walk. Hard to sit. Can't leave my house. Had in 2009. Got better. Have had off and on days here and there where the burning and aching and pain have flared up, but nothing like how it's is now. Been like this since mid April. Getting worse. I never see this as a Lyme symptom. Feel so alone and with no hope at all. I can't live like this much longer. Tried so many things for it. Nothing works.

I am SO SORRY you are dealing with this. I've had it as others here, too. We had a conversation about this a couple of months ago. I'll see if I can find it.

I had this for months on end in college and went through 4 gynecologists before one of them finally coated me w/ gentian violet, and BAM! Cleared up immediately. My theory is it was a fungal infection, when all the docs were assuming it was bacterial so none of the abx were effective., and in fact made it worse.

Hopefully teragram will come along and post, as she had a recent episode and I think had success in dealing with it. Here is her post:

Also, do you have lyme & co as well? Or did you come to this community looking for answers specifically to this problem?

I have Lyme too. My Igenex bands were indeterminate for the most part but my LLMD did some test to see how your T cells react to borrelia and mine was crazy positive.
I have been sick since since 2005 but have functioned overall, but lots of different thing crop up and go wrong and come and go. There are so so many treatments I can't do like herbs due to my bladder. Also have interstitial cystitis. And also many things give me vaginal burning. I am about to start IV antibiotics. Have had the same LLMD for about 4 years. Anyway I am beyond in misery. Worst of the worst I have ever had to cope with. It's just that it won't stop. I get flare ups for a few days but this has been over a month and it's nonstop. I truly can NOT live much longer like this. I honestly don't think I can hold out too much longer with this kind of pain. I have two beautiful kids who I don't want to leave but I also don't want to be here in this body and pain anymore.

OK… read through those threads and see if anything rings a bell. If not, hopefully others will come along with ideas. Unfortunately, this is a pretty common symptom among women, so NO ONE should be suffering from it.

Also, if you have the energy, if you could post some of the remedies you have already tried, it will help people narrow down some suggestions.

We will help you find a solution.

Yes, yes. Been there, done that. The gynecologist told me to use plain old vaseline. Coat a thick layer (only on the area that burns). You can also use Emu oil. It should go away after a few days (great relief--I couldn't even wear underwear or pants!).

Another doc. told me that Diflucan can help in some cases.

Thank you for the replies. I have had the burning now for 2 months almost. Non-stop… except the minute I get my period it all goes away and I get 4 days of relief… until my period ends and the burning sets in again. It is THE WORST. I had an appointment today with my LLMD. Going to try some estrogen compounded gel…
The psychological impact of this condition is indescribable. I would take ANY symptom over it. I am to tired to say much more. I need to start lyme treatment, but am TERRIFIED of getting vaginal yeast infections. Thank you again. Wish I had something more positive to post.
