I wonder about
that too, sometimes.
Personally, it feels more like a chicken/egg kind of question, which came first?
I've found that as I progress in treatment that it's easier to control allergy symptoms, and conversely it's important to try to minimize allergy symptoms to avoid stressing the immune system.
I went to an allergist and got tested, and was prescribed Loratadine (Claritin). That very same day, a study was published that suggested that Loratadine helps to potentiate the effects of antibiotic treatment for Lyme by starving the little Borrelia of Manganese, it interferes with their ability to absorb it!!
So, being a guy who listens when the Universe whispers suggestions, I got a year's worth of Loratadine for 17 bucks on Amazon and began adding it to my med box. Why not, I may be killing two birds with one stone! At least my sinuses are clearer. And, since my brain MRI revealed chronic inflammatory sinusitis, treating for allergies is important. I feel good about
all that.
