Hi Suffering…
My (and my LLMD's and other expert's) theory is that some ticks actually carry viruses as well as the microbial infections. So, a bite can reintroduce EBV. But when your immune system gets overwhelmed from the initial infection, EBV can also reactivate. So, in a sense, a new infection or infections as nasty as lyme & co CAN reactivate EBV simply by overwhelming your immune system.
One of the first things my LLMD did was to test me for high viral loads (I had reactivated EBV, CMV, HHV 6 and 8, all common w/ lymees) and more. So before I would be able to handle lyme & co tx, we got my viral load down.
She started me on high doses of Acyclovir for a couple months, which did nothing. She switched me to Valcyclovir, which helped. I was on that for a year, and tried to go off it back in January, which was disastrous. Viral load shot right back up. So I tried a natural replacement, Beyond Balance IMN V II. I accidentally overdosed, and was very VERY ill for about a month. I'm now back on the Valcyclovir and will try the Beyond Balance again soon. It is very powerful.
