Hi everyone,

I wanted to share that I had my baby girl May 31st!
She's healthy and beautiful and perfect. Labor was a cinch and we are in such bliss.

2011 subtle symptoms... Oct 2012 until Jan 2014 SO SO sick- 7 months post treatment conceived this little doll.

41 years old- so grateful....no symptoms. Was on abx through pregnancy and am now during nursing. Sample of placenta and cord sent to IgeniX...

Looking forward to receiving the results back from IgeniX.
I had to follow my Llmd's advise to remain on a mild dose of 2 abx from month 3 throughout nursing... My OBGYN and now Pediatrician assured me the abx arent helping protect her and told me to get off of them, ha! I have to ignore them and follow my heart. Even after being healed its so frustrating the medical community's ignorance.

Did you have her cord blood tested?

I'm so very, very glad you are following what you know to be best with the abx. You can't be too safe with these infections!

How beautiful and amazing, you will be a GREAT mom! Hope the baby test is good. May want to test in a few months again, just to be sure!!!!!!!!

Congrats! Thinking I should have had another or two like I wanted, but then it's so hard now, not sure that is a good idea....

That is amazing Yogi! I know your hands are going to be full and happy. Fyi my little one is doing well ( 5 months now!) and his lyme PCR test all came back negative.

Major congrats! My baby girl turned 23 two days ago and my baby boy just got his driving permit. I feel so old. LOL.

Do what you think is best for your child.

I'm also awaiting my test results from Igenex. Based on my symptoms, I would have been exposed when I was 16, so I went through both pregnancies/nursing with major infections.

My daughter had chronic ear infections and strep from 10 months to 5 years old. She was on and off abx for that entire time, but there was two years where she took abx everyday. No symptoms.

My son also had ear infections/strep on and off, but we when the ear tubes route. He only had abx off and on, but mostly off. Major symptoms.

Pediatricians are usually very conservative because they have treated lots of kids and seen lots of things. My pediatrician always thanks me for letting her treat my kids because she said they taught her so much. The next lesson is going to be about Lyme. Since we are a "we don't have Lyme" state it'll be interesting, but we've disagreed in the past so we'll agree to disagree. The pediatrician's job is to use their knowledge and experience to treat your child. Your job is to do what's best for your child. Most of the time those things mess, but when they don't you have to do what you feel is right.

Take care of yourself. I remember when I had my daughter and my husband would come home. At first he said "you didn't take a shower?" The answer was no. My daughter wanted to nurse every two hours for about an hour. So I had to choose between sleeping, eating and taking a shower. Taking a shower rarely won. I learned fast that she just want to suck, so I gave her a pacifier. The doctor was ok with it as long as she stopped by 5. She did. We even had a ceremonial throwing away of the last pacifier at Disney World. We took her there for her birthday. My son was also a pacifier baby. We kept finding them for years after he stopped.

Enjoy! Get some sleep! Make sure to ask for help if you need it. I had my Mom clean the house, cook meals and do dishes. That's what I needed help with, not the kids.

Yes, the shower or feeding? I don't know how but I've been sneaking in a nice bath every morning when she's sleeping. I just bring her into the bathroom in her little sleeper and watch her while I soak in a HOT and wonderful bath. And I even blow dry my hair while she's sleeping and she doesn't mind at all.

Opugirl,

Been thinking about you - throughout my pregnancy, actually. You did NOT take abx during your pregnancy, correct? I think that's wonderful. Which tests did you run for you little? At IgeniX? Do you mind if I ask how much they were? I wonder if I should test again in a couple months...just trying to save $$$ - she goes thru so many diapies...haha

I feel so guilty when I accidentally miss my evening dose of Cefdinir.....like she's going to get infected, but that's so silly! When I think of you it calms me because if I remember correctly, we were sick for a similar amount of time, had a super similar protocol and were both on the same(ish) treatment - abx and herbal - for about the same time yah?

Traveler, hope you're well boo...I will never forget you allowing me to call you when I was in dire straights freaking out about my infections. You were so loving and assuring...I did test the cord and placenta. (By the way, I encapsulated my placenta to stave away possible pp depression and for energy production.) lol It cost $450....blah....

Yogi - my daughter has been off meds for a year. She turns 6 at the end of July and she is doing well. I did not know I had Lyme when I was pregnant with her so I did not have any antibiotics while pregnant. She is still on Keppra for seizures until October and then we will wean her of and hope that the Lyme treatment worked for her seizures.

My son was a surprise so I was in the middle of treatment when I found out I was pregnant with him. I was on antibiotics the whole pregnancy. He has been the healthiest kid. No ear infections or colds and just a big boy. He is now three and never have I noticed anything strange but I do pay attention of course.

I was so happy to see the negative labs. I can't imagine having two kids with Lyme while trying to heal myself. Good luck! Can't wait to hear that you too have a negative result.

Jrpsf, yes! When I was sick that's all I wanted was aome positive words from people who are healed. Thank you! She's precious and amazing.

Jessica, thx for sharing... I have an acquaintance whose 3 girls were infected without her knowledge... That's great your daughter is well! Were you sick during your 2nd pregnancy? So scary and wonderful your son didnt contract it...

Yogi - I started treatment with ABX 3 months before I became pregnant with him. At that time we had not tested our daughter so we did not know she had Lyme but suspected it. My pregnancy with my son went very smooth being on ABX and all the issues that I had when I was pregnant with my daughter did not reappear. When I was two months pregnant with my son we finally had my daughter tested and she started treatment. I was scared that my son would also be born with Lyme but my LLMD said that he would have a good chance to be negative since I was on ABX.
I responded well to treatment and so did my daughter, both of us have been off ABX for a year and just maintaining a good diet and being very active. My son is healthy and has no issues as of yet. I always wonder if I should have him tested again. But that would be a question for my LLMD I guess.

Jessica, so glad everyone is healthy!! I bet your som doesnt have it. Did you remain on abx while nursing?
