I got a Nutri Ninja for x-mas and I LOVVVE it! You get ALL the vitamins from the fruits/veggies from the throwing the whole piece of fruit or veggie in and it is VERY VERY easy to clean--like 10 secs we're talking easy to clean!
I must say though, I started out with pretty much all green smoothies and while it made a big difference and made me feel really good, energetic & better mental clarity following drinking it..... it actually boosted my immune system too much and made my lyme symptoms start flaring bad. I know it depends on where you are in treatment or how ill you are but sometimes you dont want to to boost your immune system too much and have it start "recognizing" the invaders as that is what turns on inflammation and then in turn being more symptomatic (For the members reading that are familiar with Buhner, I believe what Im saying is similar to why he contradicts using the "Astragalus" herb in chronic lyme is what comes to mind that is similar. It is not always good to boost your immune system if your infections are still roaring/or bacterial load is still pretty high). Essentially if boosting our immune system alone could eradicate the infections, it wouldve done so by now and we wouldnt be sick anymore....but instead when boosted *too much, it activates and starts seeing the invaders and then when it cant eradicate infections things start going kind of whacky and causing more symptoms.
I still love my N.Ninja but apparently I am just not ready for an immune super boost just yet! Also, I am certainly not saying one should not boost the immune system as much as possible, I just feel there is a certain time to do so during treatment. Its def a major factor with healing. I kind of moderately boost mine as Im going along I guess you can say! Towards the end of treatment though, I plan to be boost boost boosting away!
I had initially juiced in my green smoothie:
Kale, celery, parsley, carrots, beets, cucumbers, green apple(the only fruit I would use and green is best)
Now I only do like 2 of these^^ at a time and not as often.
My fav for vitamin C and antioxidants is just Lemons & Blueberries (w/ice and one packet of stevia).
Those who have candida issues from all the abx know that we cant go too crazy with even the natural sugars in fruit so I personally keep that to a minimum. Lemons have hardly any natural sugar (if any at all) and the berry family has minimal sugar as if compared to bananas, grapes, mango's, etc. so I do a like 7-8 blueberries and a couple good sized wedges of lemons.
