Hi all - I need to find someone that is willing to talk with someone else that has Lyme & is scared

They joined the forum, but all of the posts with people having issues while in treatment is freaking her out. She is also dealing with mold issues and has had to move.

She is hoping to find someone besides just me (LOL!) to email with for a couple of reasons. No one should be listening to only one person when it comes to these infections - there is just too much unknown and too much being learned daily. One person can easily miss things.

Secondly, she understands that I have other things that I need to attend to, so she's hoping that someone else would be willing to exchange emails with her. We all know how hard it can be when you are isolated from those that understand what it's like.

Anyone the least bit interested? You can post here or email me, and thank you!!!

I Heartrx and Garden peace, thank you for your response, i am who traveler posted for asking for help. However your emails are not available and reading TMI on these boards gives me panic attacks.

Herbalgirl, the disease invokes serious anxiety and panic attacks. I think you will improve with treatment.

Herbalgirl, you can go in and edit your post to remove your email address. I know on mine I have a big X to remove and a pencil to delete. I'm not sure why other's don't show that. Actually, I'll bet it's because I'm logged in and the forum knows it's me so I get those icons.

What Garden Peace is talking about is that if you look at the icon under your name, there are two icons. An envelope and a house. If the envelope is blue, then people will be able to send you emails or receive email sent to them. Yours is not blue, so you can go into your profile and change a setting to accept emails. Some people turn it off unless they want to have a specific conversation with someone.

Sometimes in a post you'll see someone say "email me the info" or talk about having a conversation outside the forum, it's at that time people change the settings. After the conversation they will change the setting so that no one has access to their email.

There's a lot of information in the forums, but after reading them for a little while you get a feel for everyone's personalities. Some people you will mesh with and others you won't. You also begin to learn where everyone is in their journey. Personality comes out in what people post and how they describe everything.

When I scan the new posts (and there are way too many to read them all), I also tend to look at who the original poster or the last poster is. This gives you an idea of whether it's a good thing for you to spend your time on.

One really good piece of advice I saw recently was to keep a notebook. I use a big spiral notebook and I write a subject at the top of each page as I come across information. A lot of what you read won't be pertain to you right now, but may be helpful later. If you take down things or at least links, it will help you later on. (Thank you, Pirouette).

It's all really overwhelming. Take a deep breath and take your time. If you don't you won't retain much. I found that out the hard way. But it's almost guaranteed that if you have a question, someone will have had the same experience.

Many thanks to the moderators who keep this all going. Without them many of us would still be very lost.

Traveler, please take a few more days off. Doing too much after surgery is sure to set you back.
