C Reactive Protein, will inflammation ever go down?

I've got lyme and RMSF. I've been doing Rocephin by IV and taking doxycycline 2x a day about 3 weeks. The first week my CRP was in the 20s. The next week it doubled into the 40s. Third week it is in the 80s. Shouldn't it be coming down with the antibiotics? My only symptom since this started is extreme joint pain in both feet, ankles, and my left wrist. I take 800 milligram ibuprofen every 8 hours. If I don't take it I can't stand to walk and my low back hurts. Will my CRP finally come down?

Are you detoxing? It's the die off from the bacteria that is raising the level of toxins in your blood that is making this happen, and detoxing is what we can use to control the situation some.

What all are you doing for detoxing? We have a list of some great suggestions in the "New to Lyme?" thread.

These levels will come down, but you are herxing at this point - the most miserable time of healing is when you are herxing.

I take Epsom baths sometimes a couple a day. Alka seltzer gold also. Hope I see a change soon. Feel like poo all the time.

You really do need to start doing more to help your body remove those toxins. I would greatly encourage you to slowly start adding in more ways to help your body detox.

For example, I would do oil pulling, take activated charcoal, take Alpha Lipoic Acid, dry skin brush, soak my feet in the Epsom salt soaks ( the baths overwhelmed me with toxins being released from the tissues), drink a minimum of 64 ounces of lemon water a day, and periodic gall bladder liver flushes (mainly because I couldn't take milk thistle).
