Generally, but not always, hair loss is due to thyroid issues and/or heavy metals.
Ever since being infected w/ lyme & co, my thyroid has struggled and I immediately lost hair, which has been relatively consistent for a decade. This is the best resource for thyroid health that I have ever found:
www.stopthethyroidmadness.comSo I finally got my thyroid in good balance. And THEN… I started consuming this awesome organic, GMO free raw food protein powder due to severe GI issues. I loved this stuff - it literally saved me from starvation and malnutrition because I was no longer able to digest solid food.
But, my hair loss doubled overnight… it was falling out in clumps. Terrified me. I had so little to start with after the thyroid problems that I already had bald spots and then it got worse. It took me awhile but I came across information about
the brown rice used in the food powder, which was sourced from an area in china known for high metals. BOOM. The link was crystal clear. I stopped consuming the powder and my hair stopped falling out. It's actually becoming thicker (very slowly).
The issues with heavy metals can also become exacerbated if you are using detoxifying products that act like chelators, or extractors/binders for heavy metals (like chlorella or some foods - see article below) I also realized I was using a couple of these products) that pulls out more metals than your body can properly detox out of your body, which then allows the metals to be reabsorbed, causing even more problems. So if you are detoxing ineffectively, you could also be facing these issues.
Here's a good article on chelation:
naturalsociety.com/6-foods-natural-heavy-metal-chelation/You might just need to increase or slow down your detox, which ever applies in context.
Hope this helps -
