My son has 8 month history of headaches, dizziness, new onset learning disability, cog issues. He tested positive for mycoplasma, successfully treated anaplamosis, 2 bands were positive for Lyme (are no longer per our lyme practitioner) , had a positive Fry, not adequately treated. He has refused to take his meds for a month. Neuropsych and agitation/ irritibility are worsening, as are behaviors imitating self-harm. In the absence of truly positive tick borne bacteria (Babesia, Bartonella, Lyme all negative per Medical Diagnostics Lab). Does anyone have any idea what else could be causing this?

did you check for environmental toxins?
Delayed food sensitivities?
Parasites?

Just because he is not testing positive it does not mean he is cured. As long as he is displaying severe symptoms you should continue to treat. If symptoms are not evident for 8 weeks you can stop the abx. Please find your son a a good LLMD as soon as possible. I have experienced similar issues with my child and the pscyh symptoms are very much a concern. Rocephin is usually very helpful. IMHO it is a difficult disease to treat and presents as a relpasing remitting disease.

Agree with barn girl. ( hi barn girl, I'm a horse person too 😋)
My dd now 11 had all those symptoms. Took us going to three docs to find right fit. With proper treatment those symptoms should slowly resolve. Seems to me the psych symptoms unfortunately take the longest to resolve. My dd had intrusive thoughts. They were the first to come in the last to leave. We first did anabiotic treatment for about three months. Then switch to herbals for about a year and a half. Now just on immune building. Lots of detox. Infared sauna and Biomat.

I agree - more treatment. Possible bart?

Do a search on Rowingmom - she treated her daughter with Buhner's herbs after antibiotics, and she is symptom free today.
I believe her daughter had cognitive issues, along with some psych issues, too.

He was positive for anaplasmosis, mycoplasm, equivocol bartonella from IGenex, bands 39 and 41 Medical Diagnostics, Fry Lab a lot of biofilm with possible bartonella in it. As we all know he could be positive for anything that is not tested for yet or cannot be identified. He is a teenager and everyone including him and husband are passing it off as normal behavior but he is not right. Treated the anaplasmosis, still positive for mycoplasm, not adequetely treated for the biofilm. What would the most significant psych symptoms be? He had such bad cognitive issues that he has to repeat 10th grade. Getting a 16 year old to do what you want him to do is tough enough.

pscyh changes can include learning and attention issues, personality changes and irritability. It sounds like he is sick and I would not cut him off antibiotics. You need a llmd to help you.

On the day that consulting doctor saw Jim, he called to tell us that he had made a CLINICAL
DIAGNOSIS of Lyme disease, a diagnosis based on Jim's clinical symptoms, NOT on a blood
test. The doctor prescribed Ceftin, a drug that crosses the blood brain barrier, attacking
spirochetes that were in the brain.

Within three days , Jim's paranoia disappeared. He admitted to having had hallucinations, and
they too were gone. He was now sleeping 14 or more hours a day, and for the first time, had
joint pain, as part of a Jarisch Herxh eimer reaction to the antibiotics, a reaction in which the
symptoms temporarily get worse. Thus began Jim's long struggle with what turned out to be
chronic Lyme disease.

Jim went from being a teenager who could not attend school, could not participate a
t all in the educational process, was failing all tests, to a good student at one of the best colleges in the New York State system. He went from being a very sick kid, who was on homebound instruction for
a year and a half, to a college graduate. He was helped by a supportive family, a Lyme -
literate doctor, who treated him effectively, a school administrator who accepted the fact that he was,
indeed, ill, and a school system that provided accommodations, to help him succeed/

Hi barngirl

She's doing great. We used lots different stuff over the years.
First went to Hansa center used Jernigan formulas.
Then still had those darn intrusive thoughts. Found our current llnd
Used one of his formulas called blt. Really helped Bart symptoms
Then used many beyond balance herbs. Bar1 bb1. Bb2. Cal k and cal k detox. Not all at once.
Perkana detox.
Really love the cal k and cal k detox. She did great on this. Straight A student. Soccer player and black belt Taekwondo 😋
Also gave research nutritionals transfer factor Lyme plus.

So glad to read your son is doing great. !!!! Warms my heart to hear about other kids healing.
