Svt? Serious heart issues? I think I'm going to die..

I've been hospitalized for going on 24 hours now.. I was taken in by ambulance for the 2nd time in 4 days..

My heart is really going haywire and I honestly think Lyme is going to kill me..

I'm sorry to say it but I don't know what to do anymore..

They're keeping me in the hospital for observation and to run some tests on my heart.. I'm so sick of this. I'm scared..

Oh, Aly~I am so sorry! With the racing heart, is it painful in the heart area, too?

I would hope that abx would stabilize. But if it doesn't & they do need to intervene, I wonder if you could request blood from the heart area & have them send to IgeneX or Fry Labs? It would be helpful (& perhaps proving) to know for you, & others.

My LLMD said I need to deal with my svt issues before I could go any further with treatment. Looking like my hr might need to be controlled with meds for the time being..

Oh wow, praying for you, Alyrose! is there an actual diagnosis for what is happening with your heart? As in, what is actually causing your SVT/heart to beat so fast? Hoping the meds regulate everything for you very soon.

In the interim, heart meds may be the best thing, but hopefully with LD treatment you will wean of of them & begin to see improvements. Keep us posted.

Did you get diagnosed with bart? ..or just Lyme so far?

I know bart can be hard on the heart.

I also dealt with a high resting heart rate (100 bpm) and palpitations before lyme/bartonella was even on my radar. My doctor at the time said that my Holter Monitor readings were perfectly normal, as was my cardiac ultrasound.

My endocrinologist wanted to prescribe beta blockers but I googled instead and found bioidentical progesterone. This was back in 2004.

The three supplements that have worked best for me regarding heart issues have been hawthorne, CoQ10 and bioidentical progesterone cream (probably because it helps adrenal function).

Now since 2013 and treating with the herbs from Buhner's bartonella protocol, I can go days without progesterone and not notice a difference. Palpitations and tachycardia are a thing of the past.

Please realize that your heart issues are likely caused by your infections/adrenal stress related to infection and will resolve with treatment.

Thank you everyone. Still waiting for my cardiac tests. I'll probably be here again tonight..

My vitals on Thursday when I first came in the ER were: 190/110 Bp and a hr of 175

My vitals yesterday were: 200/118 Bp and a hr of 181.

I'm scared but I'm in good hands. Only bad thing is they're sending in an infectious disease doc.. ****.

Intermittent.. ID just came in and told me the exact opposite of what my LLMD says.. Soooo.. He refuses to take my Igenex test seriously and wants to do a spinal tap..

So he wants a spinal tap to test for lyme? You can refuse it, right? They're not very reliable for detecting lyme disease.

Hey, there's always the option of a heart transplant, LOL.

A Duke University Medical Researcher and doctor came down with Lyme and actually did require a heart transplant. He wrote a book about it, and now is doing fine.

He was interviewed on the Diane Rheem show.

I take Beta Blockers. ARe they giving you anything for your heart?

The Beta Blockers control most of my heart issues, like irregular beats and tachycardia.

Dear Alyrose,

I'm so sorry you are going through this!! If it were me I would refuse the spinal tap since you have your results from the IgeneX test.

I don't know about all the different coinfections of lyme, only ehrlichiosis since I had that. Years ago I used to suffer from severe anxiety and that would cause my heart to beat like that.

Maybe sedatives may help? Are you taking any?

Britni,regular docs cardios dont treat...do you have llmd ? Are you in treatment?
My counselor had exteme tachy releived by a year of iv abx

I had an LLMD that discharged me due to the treatments making me worse. She would constantly tell me that she was perplexed by my case, so I am currently looking for a new one.

Britni this thread is from last July so Aly may have healed and moved on. I hope that is the case. She was going to see a doc in another town and I don't think we have heard back from her.
