Hi

I 'm so sick again with yeast infection. I don't know what to do .I can't control the yeast no matter what I try .I think that this yeast infection is going to kill me before the Lyme disease does. I 'm sure the mold in the house is making it worse and there is no where else for me to go . No friends , no family ,no money , bad credit, and stuck with a house we own and can't sell because we owe more than it is worth. No savings ,can't afford to move. I afraid I'm going to die in this house.

Don't know why I'm here there is nothing anyone here can do to help. I just have no one else to talk to. I'm scared and alone.

Ginger - I know why you're here...because we care...I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Are you able (well enough) to get out of the house every day for several hours to at least remove yourself from the mold toxins? Or are you too sick to even leave the house? I don't even know if that would help...i just don't know what to suggest.

Are all the rooms in your house moldy? Or is it confined to a basement? Just wondering if it was one area, if it could be somehow sealed off, since you can't afford to have it dealt with.

How have you been treating the yeast infection?
I have been lucky not to have that issue.

I'm hoping Pirouette will be along - she is a 'master' at resolving yeast/fungal issues. Maybe you've already read some of her posts...if not, maybe to a search (in this forum) about yeast/nystatin.

I talked to Pirouette many times and I've done everything she said but nothing is helping . I take Pure nystatin powder but can't take enough because it is so expensive and the doctors have given me every yeast med they make for over 2 years without much help, including intravenous 2 times .I take Probiotics but also can't take enough because of expense.I have a moldy house and can't leave . I know this is a problem. I'm out of money and may end up on the street soon. I'm so scared.

Are there any people out there that can't get rid of yeast . what are you doing to help I'm really struggling with yeast problems.

I take nystatin powder, candex, and follow no gluten, no sugar, low dairy diet.I take vsl3 probiotics one in the mornig and one at night. Please help I'm really not doing good.Very sick.

Hi Ginger,

I'm so sorry you are going through all this.. The stress of everything you are going through is quite normal these days with the bad economy, etc. I lost my house and I had a rough time. It was even scarier because I was on my own with no support system.

Anyway, getting back to your yeast problem, maybe try Dr. Jernigan's Yeast Ease. I personally never tried it but heard really good things about it from others. It costs $48.00 plus shipping. If I needed it fast I would call up the Hansa Center and order it instead of online.

Hi Ginger

I'm so sorry you are still struggling with the yeast issues. We had some good conversations awhile back but I have to remind you that you can't rule out a remedy unless you take it for the recommended duration at the recommended dosing. You mentioned that you can no longer afford the Nystatin powder but in order for it to be effective, you have to continue taking it and taking the right dose. The same is true for any other anti fungal. In your case, you probably need higher doses, as well.

Last we spoke you were also having trouble sticking to the recommended diet, which is also critical in order to prevent the yeast from growing. Are you sure you are ingesting NO sugars, fruits, simple carbs? Simple grains can also convert quickly to sugar, which feeds the yeast.

And not sure which form of VSL you're taking but it's possible you are not taking enough probiotic. Also, you might want to switch to another brand to see if you can't get a better result. For you, I recommend at least 800 billion per day.

And what are you currently doing for detox?

I've been on high doses of antifungals for over 2 years even Intravenous for 2 months. My insurance will not cover anymore so my doctor even got me four more weeks free from the company and have not been able to get more . Doctor is trying to work some thing out to get me more . The dosed are the highest the doctor will prescribe. I take half a teaspoon of nystatin powder twice a day, this is costing me almost 100 dollars a month. Vsl 3 cost me 70 dollars a month and I take two a day which is 250 billion . I hate sticking to the diet but do very well except for a small amount of fruit a couple of days a week which my doctor said I should have. I stick to berries and green apple and grape fruit . Which is what I was told to eat. I eat vegetables, meat ,Seeds, Raw almonds and a little brown rice. I said I have a hard time sticking to it not that I did not stick to it .I Just don't like the food and miss eating normal. I am doing everything I can at the moment including adding candex twice a day which is costing another 50 dollars and the doctor told me to take the candex ,I did not just pick this myself.
I do detox, I take two footbaths a day, take Activated Charcoal ,Chlorella, Yucca Root ,Gluthatione ,Nac and Methyl Folate and Methyl b12. Dry brush before showers.

Thanks Ginger. Sounds like you are doing MUCH better with the diet—so that's great. I know it's tough but just about everyone here has to sacrifice to maintain a specific diet, which is critical to the tx.

And the detox sounds good too.

I realize the MD won't prescribe higher doses of the Nystatin powder, and that you can't afford to purchase more—but that's the recommendation. I'm not sure what else to suggest. Here is the dosing chart that suggests the max dose is 2 1/2 t per day. You'll need to maintain this dose for more than a few months with the amount of yeast you're trying to clear out.

The doctor thinks I may Have babesia or bart in my stomach and intestines and that is why It's not getting better. I am going to try babsia meds this month to see if this helps. I'm pretty sure I have bacterial infections in my stomach and intestines.

Have you been checked for parasites? What stomach/intestinal symptoms are you having? We might be able to help you narrow it down.

As for the diet, I too am very sorry. but remember this is only a short term situation. I discovered I have a fairly serious soy allergy - so my diet is changed forever. Soy is in everything, I have to even be careful what herbal teas I get. I can no longer have many of the foods everyone else regularly consume, right down to and including Ritz crackers. I didn't really eat them often, but I loved them as a light snack with some nice cheese. It would tempt me to eat when nothing else sounded good.

Don't be afraid. You have already done a lot of great homework-- you are sugar/wheat free and on methyl Bs-- all of which are great steps. Now just try to reduce your fear and stress levels. Just trust in God, and give ALL your FEAR and ANXIETY to Him--- He loves you. The fear/stress hormones will only make you sicker and give the devil a laugh. Don't let these evil critters win over you!! They thrive on fear.

Have you ever tried MONOLAURIN for yeast and candida infections? Its a concentrated coconut oil derivative(tropical plants like coconuts have developed so many nice chemicals that defeat fungi, molds, bacteria, biofilm, and parasites!!!)

Anyway, Monolaurin is supposedly very effective for yeast infections since it has a caprylic type medium chain fatty acid in it. I have worked my way up to 2 scoops per day, and am hoping to get up to 3 per day for Lyme. (I herxed a bit at the beginning..) Monolaurin has been clinically shown to inhibit and or kill yeast and candida very effectively. It also kills any virus or bacteria that has a fatty lipid outer envelope. The monolaurin is absorbed into the pathogen as a fat, and then sinks the organism like the titanic! Borrelia happens to have a fatty outer surface protein lipid -- so Im hoping that monolaurin will also be effective against lyme.
A therapeutic dose of Monolaurin for a Yeast/Candida infection is supposedly 2-3 GRAMS per day. Lauricidin is one good brand of monolaurin in pellet form, but there are many others out there. The "Ultimate Monolaurin" is a bit cheaper and is also in pellet form, from Amazon. You can also buy capsules fairly cheaply at Swanson Vitamins, but I think they are only 300 milligrams-- so you would need to take 8-10 capsule per day for a therapeutic dose.

(I also take a few teaspoons of coconut oil in my coffee, on top of the monolaurin.)

Personally, I believed that a very subtle form of biological and financial warfare has been waged against Americans for the past 20 years... Its not an accident that many of us have negative equity in our homes,(we've been robbed) and we are very sick (we've been poisoned).. and that our sickness is being blatantly denied by the so called "authorities..." Whats most important is that we all work together to try to find cures and treatments for this condition. Eventually if there is wrongdoing on a national and international scale--- it will be exposed to the light.

I have been tested twice for parasites with a stool test both came back negative.
can't get a credit care card we have bad credit.

Nystatin even hurts my stomach when I take it. Meds and food both upset my stomach lately. Was tested For h pylori three time all negative. Had three colonoscopies all clear ,Upper Gi series clear too. told it is IBD with constipation , no meds GI doctor gave me have helped. yeast med did not improve it but antibiotics did until I got another yeast infection and had to stop antibiotics. I was going to the bathroom much better on antibiotics for a while. Have taken yeast meds for two years and it never helped stomach pain or made going to the bathroom better.

It's a complex situation, not just one thing going on.

It is very possible for parasite tests to miss them.

Also, sounds like you need the abx for what is obviously a bacterial issue in the gut, but the yeast/fungus is also a separate problem, particularly if you're on the abx. I know you don't want to hear it, but you'll have to continue taking both abx and the Nystatin powder in order to get past the reactions you're having to them. It's a common part of the treatment and most of us have had to deal with it. Power through it if you can.

Doctor won't give me anymore antibiotics because of the yeast infection so I started herbals on my own and go to the doctor for the yeast . still waiting to see what he will give me since my insurance doesn't want to cover anymore yeast meds . this is just such a mess. having hard time handling all of this . Everyone else is just as sick as me and I feel like such a baby some times but after almost 30 years of being sick it takes some toll on the body and mind. I can't seem to push through all the pain any more. Not sleeping much again and anxiety and depression take over more than not . Meds not helping much .Having trouble getting meds from doctor lately and money running out fast. Started looking into selling stuff, Like some of my jewelry and collectibles of my husbands to make money but this is taking more time than we have. don't have much worth anything . Husband has not had more than one day a week off in over a month and that day is usually taken with doctors and grocery shopping.

May be I will try another parasite cleanse since I didn't make it through the whole thing last time Needed a second bottle and never had money to get it . I'll try to find that is complete in one purchase so I won't have to get more before I can afford it . Wish I cold get to and afford a real LLMD but that will never happen for me . It's just not affordable or close enough for me to travel to . I'm pretty much on my own.

Not only does the illness and the lyme really take a toll on the body but the neurotoxins from the yeast and from the die off as you're killing the yeast make this a lot worse and make you feel crazy and disconnected and emotional.

Be very careful with the parasite cleanses, if you're struggling they can be tough on you. Just go slowly. I nearly killed myself with one when I was sicker than I thought I was. I was the one working 7 days/ wk for months on end and had no one helping so it could be worse!! Just remember, it could always be worse.

Other opportunities might open up if you can get yourself past this "emergency" stage, which has lasted a long time (I went through one for 13 months a couple of years ago and it was very very difficult) but you CAN push through. Remember that the illness is messing with your brain and your emotions in SEVERAL ways. It's the illness, not you. Underneath the illness, you are still there.

Do what you can to get more of the powder so that you can make a little more progress and get more abx, and instead of your symptoms "ratcheting up" like they have been, it will help to ratchet them down...

I believe there are other sources in the "New to Lyme?" thread for financial support and they don't all rely upon a credit rating.
