There are many theories about
why this is, but one thing is for sure, many Lyme patients "react" to a full moon!! Symptoms, sometimes all of them and sometimes only a few, will worsen for seemingly no reason. But if you are watching for when the full moons happen (and some react to new moons too), you may notice that a few days before and up to the day of the full moon (Friday for this month!) symptoms will increase - not for everyone, but for some. This can last anywhere from a day or two to a full week.
When I was at my worst, I reacted to both full moons and new moons. I knew 3 days in advance of each and the increased symptoms lasted for 3 days afterwards - so it lasted 6 days for me. But it eventually lessened more and more until now that I'm healed, I have to look at a calendar, something online, or the sky (LOL!) to tell me when there's a full moon!
The only way we know to help deal with this is - if you are someone that does respond to the full moon, then plan around it. Plan for easier days if possible, or at least know that you won't feel so good those days and rest as much as you can. Extra detoxing frequently helps too, and just hanging on until it passes.
Sorry that this isn't good news for some of you, but it's better to know that it's coming at you than to be caught off guard!!
Take care of yourselves, everyone!!!
