Constantly fighting bladder infections! Do you know which infection/ pathogen causes bladder infections? smurf

I thought I had a bladder infection, urinary tract infection, prostatitis. I'm a 33 year old male and all my docs said that I shouldn't be feeling any of this. Urinary tract infections came back negative multiple times, prostate inflammation test came back negative. It wasn't until I tested positive for Lyme that I realizes what it was. Since being treated for Lyme, I have noticed my symptoms have improved.
I read an article not too long ago of a South Korean man with urinary problems, fatigue, and droopy eyelids. He went to hospital in South Korea and docs ran multiple tests only to find that he had Lyme disease and was treated.

To both of you guys - it is interesting about you guys, men don't usually get bladder infections! It's usually us women, because of the way our anatomy is different. My hubby, has never had a bladder infection. And he's had prostate cancer! He's also 10 years older than me. It's just a constant thing for me, because of the Lyme. Did u Toronto_M, also get UTI presentation? At times I test negative for UTI. But the pain & symptoms are for UTI! Thanks Maine76, for letting us know it's the Lyme infection! 😊 🍀

Are your bladder infections confirmed with testing? These infections can cause interstitial cystitis (IC), which feels just like a bladder infection.

Thanks for responding Traveler. Yeah I've been wondering if I did have IC. Sometimes I do have a positive reading for UTI. Sometimes I don't. But the pain is still the same! Thanks again. And good health to you all! 😊 🍀 🙏

Traveler, I don't have a confirmation as far as a bladder infection goes. It's odd cuz the symptoms are there and then they're gone. I don't get it. I've noticed that since beginning abx treatment symptoms have improved.
There were times I'd drink 2oz of water and I'd be urinating 2-3 times that night because of it.

I know what you mean about the frustration of drinking 2 sips of water and having to be up 2 or 3 times at night!!

I'm so glad that your symptoms are improving with treatment though!!

Thank you all for the information. I also have had UTI's over the past 2 years. Some confirmed with UA C&S and others treated for the symptoms. I thought I was going crazy and kept asking why is this happening. Was seen by 3 different Urologists with no answers, except an incidental cyst found on my left kidney. I'm concerned with a strong family history of renal cancer.

Dx 7/16/15 with Lyme Borrelia Epstein Barr Virus lytic and latent.
Waiting for IGX labs results.
Currently on Doxy 10 mls twice a day, Mepron one tsp , Nystatin swish twice a day and Clarithromycin 10 mls twice a day.

Lyme and Bartonella can cause bladder problems. Prior to knowing about having Lyme, I used to get "bladder infections" frequently. Sometimes my PCP tested me and sometimes he did not. The antibiotics used to help. I had Bactrim and other antibiotics for them. Now, I know that Bactrim can treat Bart and that the infections caused my bladder issues.

This has improved somewhat since I have been treating. I don't get up as much during the night to use the restroom.

My urologist is Lyme friendly and he said that chlamydia pneumonia has an affinity for the bladder. I have a ton of issues and think that lyme, bartonella, and CP are the culprits.

I've been taking d-mannose powder everyday and that has helped quite a bit actually. After years of suffering I'm finally just beginning to find a bit of relief. Maybe you could ask your doctor about it. It's a cranberry extract. I had to use it for about 2 months straight before I started noticing a differnece. All things lyme, it takes a lot of time.
