It's only because I've read others on here caution people about
detox baths releasing too many toxins too fast that I now understand we can sometimes detox too much.
I'm thinking the drinking lots of water bit is indeed to help get those toxins o-u-t out.
I really like Alka Seltzer Gold at times such as these.
And, per Buhner's suggestion in his book, I just started taking Activated Charcoal when I get up to use the bathroom at night (activated charcoal needs to be taken 3-4 hours away from food, meds, supplements). The stuff soaks up toxins and they are released in bowel movements. I haven't had any negative experiences during the 3 days I've used the stuff but I feel much better since taking it.
The bacteria that cause our infections are slow-growing so I wouldn't worry about
a few days off treatment. It's quite similar to the pulsing concept.
The herxing is a good sign only to the extent that stuff is being killed. It's not good because it causes inflammation and that's why we need to back down on doses and increase detox. We need to get back to baseline before increasing.
From what I understand about
Cowden, he uses herbs that target all the infections.....and some of those herbs are taken concurrently.....and eventually they are rotated.
My worst herx on Cowden was at the beginning. I still had mild herxes throughout treatment and some that occasionally got my attention lol I do a lot for detox.
Now that I'm starting Buhner, I've found that I need to wait at least 4 days before increasing.....and I've added 3-4 more things to my detox protocol. I suggest that you consider adding a few things to yours.
The site I'm linking below has quite the comprehensive list:
www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.htmlI was amazed at how good I feel after taking a cold rinse at the end of my shower.....this is certainly an easy addition to a person's detox protocol.
And, if you're not dry skin brushing already, I suggest you try it. It helps move lymph fluid and that's what gets those toxins out. I've been doing dry skin brushing throughout my treatment and find it both rejuvenating and relaxing at the same time. I'm hooked on it and doubt I'll ever stop doing it - even after I'm healed ;)
