Lot's of good suggestions here!
For YOU, I would start with the pure Nystatin powder, which can be taken with any of your other meds or supplements. Most MDs will prescribe a systemic anti fungal, which is Diflucan, Ketoconazole, etc. Or if they understand the difference between system and local yeast/fungal overgrowth, they will prescribe various forms of Nystatin. Unfortunately, MOST MDs will prescribe the liquid Nystatin for mouth/throat issues… but it is a shocking waste of a very expensive prescript
ion. It contains a very small amount of the anti fungal and is filled with fillers, crap and SUGAR. It was created for kids but I doubt it even works for them.
What you need is the pure Nystatin powder. The threads here have a ton of info
goo.gl/d8iLweThe beauty of the powder is that it is PURE so less is required for more benefit, and it's also safer without all the add-ons and less expensive. But it's not always easy to obtain. I can help you with that if you need to.
THe pure nystatin powder is a local anti fungal. Since it's a powder, when you add it to water, swish it around in your mouth and swallow it, it coats your mouth, throat and your entire alimentary canal, getting to all the yeast/fungus and killing on contact for the most part. Pills (Nystain pills, Diflucan, etc…) that sit in your stomach cannot do that. And it stays in the gut for the most part so it doesn't toxify the liver.
You definitely need to take a good probiotic—if you've been using one for awhile and this still happened, switch to a different brand. But ALWAYS, use a good, live, fresh, multi-strained probiotic and you will probably need to increase the dose. I'm on high doses of IV abx so I take 800 billion on my infusion days and 100 billion or less on my off days. Your mileage may vary but I'd go ahead and double what you're taking and then play around w/ doses to find your sweet spot.
Once you have the yeast/fungus overgrowth under control, I think the coconut oil, grapefruit seed extract, sauna, tongue scraping and oil pulling are really good remedies for prevention and maintenance. But you'll likely need to hit an already present overgrowth pretty hard to get it resolved.
Hope this helps.
