I'm afraid I don't have much input as far as which infections exactly each protocol addresses - there's information on their respective websites - nor do I know which you should take into consideration above the rest. Also, no clue how MTHFR plays a part. Really though, while, of course, go with products that are going to take a stab at what you feel you're dealing with, apart from that, I think you should just try one. If it works, yay. If not, go to the next.
That's what I did - still doing, actually.
Buhner, he's got them all split up, with lots of nice information, so that's good. You could go with the protocols he's got set out, then pick and choose, if you decide certain herbs aren't doing much for you. I didn't have much luck, using his stuff. Though, to be fair, I'd just started trying to treat at the time, and I wasn't really putting much effort into it, aside from taking the herbs and detoxing with a bit of lemon juice, epsom baths.
Cowden's, I had a lot of success with that protocol - felt better than I had in months, in the beginning, then things sort of fizzled out. I'm still not sure why. But, I know it's structured to address many, if not all, of the infections, at some point throughout the 9 month course. Though, it must be said, some of the tinctures, the herbs used to make them, don't have as much traction as some of the herbs that, say, Buhner recommends. I feel like some of the herbs and whatnot that were incorporated into the making of part of his selection haven't really gotten much of an eye from the creators of such protocols. I could be wrong though.
But, still, things like Samento and Banderol, and the Pinella and Burbur for cleansing, those you hear about fairly often. They're effective. I'd actually like to get back on a couple of the detox tinctures, when I can afford it.
Jernigan's, I don't have as much experience with that one. I've tried the Borrelogen, Lymeogen, the basic detox tincture as well as the one specifically for the nervous system. I reacted to the B and L a bit, but things sort of went the way of the other two protocols, after awhile, with the progress, or even the illusion of it, fading. Also, at least for me, the detox tinctures didn't seem to have much of an effect. The Cowden stuff worked more, in that right. Others tell a different story though.
But, you know, everybody's different. A lot of how well these things are gonna work depends on the person, a whole list of factors that I'm not really smart enough to get into. Ha.
Just gotta do what you can, I guess. Try.
You're heading in the right direction, for sure. Try the medications, supplements, detox and all that, do the research, appeal to people on here in an attempt to find the answers you can't on your own.
Best of luck to yaaaa.
Sorry, if I'm not much help. Never am. *shrugs*
