Looking for pediatric LLMD in northern NJ/NY area

I am looking for recommendations for a pediatric LLMD in the northern NJ/NY area for my 16 month old son. We are wiling to travel as well. Thank you in advance!

I just emailed one of our members - Chapelle - who lives on Long Island and had her 2 kids treated by a pediatric LLMD in NYC. I'm sure she'll share contact info with you.

There's another member who takes her son to a LLMD in Red Bank (I think). I can't seem to find her by searching her screen name - I'm probably spelling it wrong. It's something like Lovemychildrenmom.

Both members still post on here but more sporadically than others. Maybe someone else can help with tracking down LMCMom so you can email her....

I see a LLMD in Morristown and he's an ILADS-trained GP. I was able to get in to see him rather quickly and his rates are reasonable. I'm not 100% sure if he treats children - would you like me to send you his contact info regardless?

Thank you all who responded and emailed me, everyone has been very helpful and I've started calling around to try and find the best LLLMD who will see him. Has been a challenge so all recommendations welcome!

As an update, we saw our regular pediatrician today who put him on amoxicillin 600MG per day for four weeks (I also started him on a probiotic). I feel pretty good about the pediatrician's response, but still think we should take him to a pediatric LLMD. Was hoping to get feedback from folks to make sure this is the right approach? Thanks all

I say it's at least a start, but don't hesitate to get him in to see a LLMD that understands what it takes to beat these infections!!

I agree with Traveler. It's great your son has been started on treatment but please see a LLMD who will do his/her best to have him beat these infections.

Early treatment needs to be aggressive and thorough....otherwise people wind up like me - still battling Lyme one year after the tick bite (and I didn't even have the rash).

It's clear you have your son's best interests at heart and I am confident he'll be just fine. Kids heal a lot more easily than adults do.

amoxicillin for your son's age is the best approach, so you are on the right path. are you using florastor? that is an excellent choice as a probiotic for kids. I sent you an email with the info - good luck and keep us posted!!!

Thanks Chapelle!! For probiotic we are giving him garden of life kid's, not Florastor, but I've read good things about S. boulardii during antibiotic treatment (since it's a yeast not a bacteria no chance for the antibiotics to kill it) so will look into Florastor.
