Hello! I am new to this group and am looking for insight as I wait for my follow up appointment with my LLD. I am on my 20th day of minocycline 100mg x2 a day as called in to pharmacy upon results of my Igenex test. I am very confused as to receiving negative results on both cdc and igenex, however the bands are as follows.
IGM
23-25 IND
34 IND
41 IND
58 +
83-93 +

IGG
31 IND
41 +

I would like to know your opinions as although I have been sick for quite some time, with bouts of remission from other treatments received, I am just getting these results and cannot wrap my mind around that all the years of not knowing this could be the CAUSE of so many of my health problems. My doctor has implied that I may have been carrying this around my entire life with reinfection during the past 8 years. My story is long and drawn out over many years, but with this new information, I am bowled over that I might find relief. My confusion lies with the negative results yet receiving antibiotics anyway. Thank you for your time, I appreciate all of your comments.

The IND bands mean there was activity, but not strong enough to register as a +. But, the activity means your body reacted...and indicates a positive response on those bands.
You can count the IND as +

You definitely have reaction on you WB to be diagnosed with having lyme disease. And it sounds like your LLD has diagnosed you with it - and prescribed antibiotics to start treatment.

The reason the test results are negative - is there has to be a certain number of the right bands showing a + for Igenex to say it is a Positive.

Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis - based on symptom history, whether or not there was a known tick-bite, etc. The testing is used just as a backup to the clinical diagnosis.

You might be interested in taking a look at the thread at the top of the page titled: "New to Lyme?...Start Here!" It's full of good information - symptom lists, info on probiotics, detox suggestions, and more.

You will need to start on probiotics right away..this is imperative to keep your gut healthy. Also, start doing several things for detox....

I am very weak today and had previously read many of the threads on this page prior to joining. I found many answers while I wait for my official follow up with my dr. by reading the other post etc. I had a few very good days since going on the ABX but also some bad very bad ones. The detox bath has helped and what I thought was my fibro pain has lessened. In the past 2 1/2 weeks I have had some bad days too but am hopeful for the first time in a very long time that there is Something that could help me. He did clinically diagnose me upon the first meeting after knowing my long medical history. I appreciate being able to express my concerns now that I am a member as I am somewhat in denial as I struggle with the Extreme misdiagnosis I have received my entire life but being the Glass Half Full kind of person I am, I am Hopeful (if I dare) that I may have stumbled upon a Life Changing opportunity through proper treatment. Thank you

You now have a diagnosis - something that is treatable.

Sorry for the reason you're here but, glad you found us.

Nobody needs to be battling Lyme alone.

Girlie did a great job of explaining your test results and I'm happy for you that your LLMD recognized what other doctors missed.

Yes, Lyme treatment is an up and down battle and sometimes it feels like we take 1 step forward and 3 steps back. The symptoms are responsible for this feeling.

I'm sure you recognize that treating Lyme successfully means that bacteria are killed. Well, Lyme is a lot like syphilis to the extent that killing the bacteria produces endotoxins.....and these are what cause our symptoms.

Implementing a detox protocol will help tremendously. There are suggestions in the "New to Lyme?" thread and a very comprehensive list here:

You'll want to start things off very slowly because you don't want to liberate too many toxins without being able to rid your body of them.
